This is a neighborhood gem and is the place to come for rustic, whole grain and sourdough breads. Their other baked goods that I've tried including this curry roll, cheddar biscuit, and scones are also really good. The only thing I had from here that was just OK to me was their chocolate croissant. Seating is pretty limited so I have only done take out.I like that their offerings are constantly rotating with the seasons. The owner and staff are super friendly and I'm really glad they are in Longfellow!

This is a neat little bread shop tucked away on Lake Street. I walked in around closing and the choices were limited, which in my opinion is a good thing! Staff were super friendly and explained all of the options left. I also noticed that they participate in Too Good To Go which I adore! I tried a loaf of the sough dough which wasn't my favorite but the guests I had for dinner liked it. In reality I don't think I was prepared for the sears throughout the bread. I also grabbed a caramelized onion pastry which was super good. I will definitely return to see what other options they have. It's also really cool space! I could see myself reading a book while having a pastry here or catching up with a friend over coffee. If you're in the area and haven't checked this place out do so!

Might be my favorite bakery in the Twin Cities area. Whole grain goodness and their savory pastries are incredible. The curry roll is a must try.

I had heard how good the bread was … but nothing prepared me for the taste. Just like at home in Germany only better and closer! Can’t wait to try more varieties!

The real thing. Crusty, dense, whole-grain sourdough breads made from local ingredients; top-notch pastries and cookies too. Everything's as local and seasonal as possible. They'll trade garden rhubarb for bread in the spring. Don't expect a bread slicer, rip the bread with your bare hands and eat it on the way home.

I really love this place. Their stuff is always delicious and unique. I want to go back right now for another pastry. Don’t expect it to be your typical “perfect” French croissant, though. It’s sourdough, I believe, and it’s different. I’m a huge fan.

Laune Bread is a gem in the Twin Cities, as it would be anywhere, and yet, the notion of locality is fundamental to the bakery. The business model of locals supporting locals - food, people and knowledge - is executed with such tasteful (classy and delicious) grace. Co-owners Chris and Tiff care deeply for their community and it shows in both their sourcing of ingredients and delivery of scrumptious breads, pastries, pizza, sandwiches and more! Go in any and all seasons to see how offerings mirror the earth's cyclical bounty. You will be welcomed, fed and satisfied.

I am so glad I got to stop by. I came in and got cinnamon roll, curry lentil roll, and a sourdough bread. Everything was very good. I liked their cinnamon roll a lot. The lady working behind the counter, probably the owner, was very nice. I just wished they open daily. Next time I will buy a bunch of breads and freeze them because I don't bake. :)

I went to Laune for the first time in early June, around 8:30am in order to try to get the best selection of some of their pastries (they opened at 8am).I first learned of Laune Bakery via my favorite bakery in St. Paul, Brake Bread.I selected four different sweet pastries and brought them home in order to enjoy with a homemade cup of hot coffee and save a few bucks. Those four pastries set me back just shy of $20.My selections were all amazing in flavor, texture, appearance. I cut each one in half to enjoy a bit of each that morning and saved the halves for the next morning's coffee. The following Friday when I was out driving & running errands, I returned in the early afternoon to try a "slab" of their pizza. I don't remember what toppings were on that slab, but I did ask them to heat it up, which they did, and I ate it there. And it was good.

This quickly became my wife’s favorite place for pastries. Lots of seasonal flavors (they periodically pay patrons for fruit from their gardens) and technically sound bakes. We have tried many pastries, a few cookies, and on occasional loaf of bread—we have yet to get something that we don’t like.
