This place is one of the gems of the city, I will miss it and glad I could make the last tango.
They were out of chicken and stuff to male smoothies but the bathrooms were clean the fries where not fresh. The waitress was bomb and provided great service with what she had to serve.
Found a street parking spot for a Friday night 6pm dinner reservation for three. Used the Minneapolis parking App. I could tell it had been busy before we arrived with students/families attending graduation and I'm guessing it would get more busy later in the evening. So we found the quiet time between. Food and drinks were good. Staff were friendly. Interesting decor and fun atmosphere.
We had a reservation so we had no problem getting a table. However, the service was very… very slow. We were there for the Sunday brunch buffet, which was fine… the spread wasn’t anything special but it all tasted just fine. Because we were all essentially serving our selves at the buffet, the were completely adequately staffed. The staff just seemed to stand on the side and watch the dining room rather than stop by the table to refill the “complimentary” orange juice and coffee or clear empty glasses or plates. One cup of coffee or juice wasn’t really the post graduation brunch experience we were looking for. It was all together a nothing special experience and frankly, disappointing.
The brunch buffet service is atrocious. I've heard good things about this restaurant but those must only apply to Lunch and Dinner. Everything served was lukewarm at best, the hash browns are best described as "associated with a stove," they had no seasoning to speak of and some still tasted plant-like. The roast beef was barely warm and tough as leather, impossible to cut or even chew. They even managed to mess up the bacon, some of it was charred black and it still wasn't even hot. The servers were also either incredibly ignorant or intentionally ignored us multiple times asking for water or condiments (which were not already at the table and needed to be requested, like seriously? You can't just have salt, pepper and ketchup at everyone's tables?) and seemed only interested in getting us out as quick as possible. And all for 30 bucks a person! Completely ridiculous and will never go there for brunch ever again. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because the atmosphere was unique and interesting, but otherwise the service and food was terrible.
I want to give 5 stars. The atmosphere alone almost does it. But, Grays, you need to step up your food game and service. We were with a party of 4 and food was mediocre and the drinks came out wrong and very late. (Ditch the plastic straws please.) Server was good but overly stretched.Carbonara was nearly flavorless…like boiled plain pasta with a light sauce, peas, and meager shaving of Parmesan.Maybe to save money the ingredients are sub par and the staff too light. The location is maybe the reason mediocrities remain. In any case, next time I want to make it a 5!
this place is great, i'm always pulling up to gray's. great food, student discount; great coffee, student discount. love the decor i feel like i'm in a scene from Gravity's Rainbow when I'm in here like the first part of the book where they're in the warehouse "didn't even get a chance to do me morning pushups..." that's really the best part of this place, I think. like i honestly don't even know who came up with all of this stuff, how it got to be as it is. Like it's more than decor, it's how the place is *constructed,* you see... my one gripe is that they only sometimes play good music, like one time they were playing Aphex Twin SAW 85-92 which certainly enhances the aesthetic experience of being here, redoubling the disjunctivity of the territory so established -- an overdetermined disjunctivity as such, and i think (if y'all at Gray's are reading this) you should perhaps try to curate homologically the Sound with the space which you have also curated to be so trippy. like sometimes they play like Pitbull and stuff in here which is like funny but I want it to be more crazy to be in here than that
Beautiful interior! You have to check out the bathrooms. I love how there's food/drink for every occasion and time of the day. Also the student discount is great!
I had a brunch with my friends for my birthday and the brunch buffet was delicious! Waffles and French toast were my favorites! Fruits are also tasty. The bottomless mimosas are worth the price if you want mimosas too. The bathrooms look like you walked into Alice in Wonderland. I didn't take pictures of my food, but hopefully the bathroom will entice you to go to Grey's. Overall a great experience!
The atmosphere is really great. Can’t give it a 5 star though due to there being very little vegetarian/vegan options, with the addition of a $1 tax on non-dairy milk. Would come back just for drinks and the environment!

First time here last weekend, we were pleasantly surprised. We had a cheeseburger and the Ecuadorian pork. HOMEMADE. TATER. TOTS!!!! We would come back just for the tots, and we will be back. Love to support LOCAL, not chains!!! Great vibe, friendly service!

The food amazing. The value amazing. The ambience amazing. My friends and I enjoyed every bit of our time at grays. Our server was super nice and everything was delicious. Coming back tomorrow haha!
Service was slow. Food was average at best. Location and building is great. But it's not a good restaurant.
