This place is one of the gems of the city, I will miss it and glad I could make the last tango.

They were out of chicken and stuff to male smoothies but the bathrooms were clean the fries where not fresh. The waitress was bomb and provided great service with what she had to serve.

I'm feeling brave enough to venture back into the fabulous world of brunch buffets. The service, food, and drinks at Gray's were all great. So, why not 5 stars???? I just can't get past the decor. I'm not sure if the visible layers of old wallpaper, exposed plaster boards and studs on the walls, mis-matched flooring, ancient looking fixtures were an intentional design choice or are just the real result of years of neglect and disrepair, but I have a feeling it's the latter. It was just too much. I had the heebie-jeebies the whole time.

Found a street parking spot for a Friday night 6pm dinner reservation for three. Used the Minneapolis parking App. I could tell it had been busy before we arrived with students/families attending graduation and I'm guessing it would get more busy later in the evening. So we found the quiet time between. Food and drinks were good. Staff were friendly. Interesting decor and fun atmosphere.

We had a reservation so we had no problem getting a table. However, the service was very… very slow. We were there for the Sunday brunch buffet, which was fine… the spread wasn’t anything special but it all tasted just fine. Because we were all essentially serving our selves at the buffet, the were completely adequately staffed. The staff just seemed to stand on the side and watch the dining room rather than stop by the table to refill the “complimentary” orange juice and coffee or clear empty glasses or plates. One cup of coffee or juice wasn’t really the post graduation brunch experience we were looking for. It was all together a nothing special experience and frankly, disappointing.

The brunch buffet service is atrocious. I've heard good things about this restaurant but those must only apply to Lunch and Dinner. Everything served was lukewarm at best, the hash browns are best described as "associated with a stove," they had no seasoning to speak of and some still tasted plant-like. The roast beef was barely warm and tough as leather, impossible to cut or even chew. They even managed to mess up the bacon, some of it was charred black and it still wasn't even hot. The servers were also either incredibly ignorant or intentionally ignored us multiple times asking for water or condiments (which were not already at the table and needed to be requested, like seriously? You can't just have salt, pepper and ketchup at everyone's tables?) and seemed only interested in getting us out as quick as possible. And all for 30 bucks a person! Completely ridiculous and will never go there for brunch ever again. The only reason I give them 2 stars is because the atmosphere was unique and interesting, but otherwise the service and food was terrible.

My husband and I joined our daughter for the Mother's Day brunch. We loved the atmosphere and funky decor, and the buffet looked promising. Unfortunately, looks can be deceiving. It's not for lack of variety that I'm giving it two stars, it's for ruining what could be an enjoyable dining experience by not properly keeping their food items hot, and by providing lackluster service. The buffet offered the usual fresh fruit and salad, two types of pasta, and breakfast choices of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, eggs Benedict, an omelette bar and cheesy hash browns. There was also chef carved roast beef and several types of dessert. All of our brunch favorites. Gray's downfall was their lack of covered chafing dishes. I have never been to a buffet where the chafing dishes were uncovered - it's standard restaurant knowledge that the heat source below is not enough to keep food hot. Every dish that should have been hot was lukewarm at best, which destroyed the mouthfeel and taste of the food. The Hollandaise on the eggs Benedict was so cold it literally congealed. The roast beef was so tough you couldn't cut it, let alone chew it. You usually cannot ruin cheesy hash browns, but these tasted as if someone had spilled a salt shaker on them. On the plus side, the French toast and desserts were good, and my husband enjoyed his freshly made HOT omelette. Despite being Mother's Day, the restaurant was far from capacity, which doesn't explain why our waiter missed my husband's OJ and I never got a refill on their delicious coffee. Our waiter seemed bored and didn't perform the simplest courtesy of removing our used plates, which sat there with the remnants of inedible roast beef. Our visit wasn't a complete washout, but for $30 a person, I expected better. We'll never know if it could have been, as our daughter is graduating in a week and we won't be back.

I want to give 5 stars. The atmosphere alone almost does it. But, Grays, you need to step up your food game and service. We were with a party of 4 and food was mediocre and the drinks came out wrong and very late. (Ditch the plastic straws please.) Server was good but overly stretched.Carbonara was nearly flavorless…like boiled plain pasta with a light sauce, peas, and meager shaving of Parmesan.Maybe to save money the ingredients are sub par and the staff too light. The location is maybe the reason mediocrities remain. In any case, next time I want to make it a 5!

this place is great, i'm always pulling up to gray's. great food, student discount; great coffee, student discount. love the decor i feel like i'm in a scene from Gravity's Rainbow when I'm in here like the first part of the book where they're in the warehouse "didn't even get a chance to do me morning pushups..." that's really the best part of this place, I think. like i honestly don't even know who came up with all of this stuff, how it got to be as it is. Like it's more than decor, it's how the place is *constructed,* you see... my one gripe is that they only sometimes play good music, like one time they were playing Aphex Twin SAW 85-92 which certainly enhances the aesthetic experience of being here, redoubling the disjunctivity of the territory so established -- an overdetermined disjunctivity as such, and i think (if y'all at Gray's are reading this) you should perhaps try to curate homologically the Sound with the space which you have also curated to be so trippy. like sometimes they play like Pitbull and stuff in here which is like funny but I want it to be more crazy to be in here than that

Best chicken tenders and fries. I also love their secret homemade sauce. I was playing The Varsity Theater next door and stopped in for food before my show. Lynn was super kind and wished us luck for our set. I recommend this place to anyone who needs some good food/any band playing next door who needs some fuel before the show.

Beautiful interior! You have to check out the bathrooms. I love how there's food/drink for every occasion and time of the day. Also the student discount is great!

If they would stop blasting EDM music at 1 pm on a daily basis this would be a much better place to be.

No one will serve you. Had to wait 30 mins for a glass of water when the place was empty. Foods decent, but nothing like the pictures.

I had a brunch with my friends for my birthday and the brunch buffet was delicious! Waffles and French toast were my favorites! Fruits are also tasty. The bottomless mimosas are worth the price if you want mimosas too. The bathrooms look like you walked into Alice in Wonderland. I didn't take pictures of my food, but hopefully the bathroom will entice you to go to Grey's. Overall a great experience!

The atmosphere is really great. Can’t give it a 5 star though due to there being very little vegetarian/vegan options, with the addition of a $1 tax on non-dairy milk. Would come back just for drinks and the environment!
