The person working was 5 star wonderful. The sandwich was not. I came to know Lu's over in northeast when I was at Aveda institute. The sandwiches were always balanced there. A good amount of veg to go with the perfect bread and succulent chicken. Not here. Quite disappointed. When you say a sandwich comes with "xyz" please put more than one slice of carrot, cucumber and cilantro.

Remember two years ago when their large sandwiches were like $6.99 and they wouldn’t nickel and dime you for any tiny modification? Want extra sauce? Upcharge. 1/2 and 1/2 meat? Upcharge. Extra jalapeños? Upcharge. Ridiculous. With tax and 10% tip I paid $14 for a bahn mi sandwich without much filling.. I’ll give them that they improved their branding and made the scene real kitschy, but I prefer the old business model: no frills, good, inexpensive food!

Amazing Banh Mi. One of the best I've had. I had the steak banh mi without the Paté (I don't eat Pork), and it was delicious. Huge portion and very fillling, but also not heavy because of all the veggies.Great for a post workout protein packed meal. The spicy sauce is also amazing, but beware because it packs a punch. Highly recommend!

Small nice place. Nice decor for a sandwich place. They have many other locations but this one is near U of M. Decor and seatings are nicely chosen. A bit Modern and hip. Order 2 sandwiches: Special ham: made with there special ham. Flavor and everything is good. Just didn't put enough Mayo or pate to give the classic French influence banh mi taste that has captivated us here in America. Cold cut: nothing too special, classic Vietnamese ham and pork meatloaf combination. Feel like there wasn't enough meat in there to make the sandwich full filling. Besides that flavor is good nothing extra. Lu' has a lot of locations around, this one is so so. Wouldn't go back for a sandwich. My only critique: they have 2 sizes for sandwich choices. We got the small size for around 7$. It's just how the market price for a banh mi has shot up from 3-5$ to 7$ for small size and 10$ for a larger version. So just don't be surprised themonce cheap delicious and affordable Vietnamese banh mi price has sky rocketed pass your typical sandwich prices.

I love Lu's in general. But specifically for this place, I admire the workers so much. Working on a college campus is tough, with the demand and traffic. This location has the nicest staff who always serve me so well. I come here because I know the serving is reliable. They ALWAYS stuff my bahn mi with toppings. I get the curried tofu because I'm vegetarian, and the flavor is incredible, you can't find tofu with an intense flavor like that anywhere. They give me three or four scoops of protein, and then stuff the rest with veggies. So good, I definitely get my money's worth. I sometimes get the rice noodle bowl, which is SO good, but not as worth it for the price. My only complaint is sometimes the fountain drinks are out of order, and the bathroom situation is.. just alright.

Meh. The banh mi I got was lacking so much flavor. Maybe the saving grace here is the large portion but you just end up with a large portion of meh food.

I had the roasted pork banh mi with all veggies and mayo and soy sauce. The veggies are very fresh, and the roast pork was good. The bread was slightly crusty, and tasted very good, but it could have a little more 'chew' to it (if you know French bread, you know what I'm talking about). Definitely would eat here again.

I wish I could take pictures, but I'm way too hungry, and I became a regular after a foodie member from a MN Facebook group recommended the regular cold meat, double meat. The door has been damaged for months; I hope they relocate at some point. Parking is in the back. They have new staff, but they did a decent job. Sandwiches are affordable.

I didn't expect their Banh Mi to be this good! I got the pan fried chicken banh mi and it was amazing. It wasn't too dry, the meat was fresh and juicy and the size was perfect. One thing I wasn't prepared for was the jalapeños. Besides that, everything about it was great. Other options on their menu include special ham, grilled pork and Vietnamese sausage. Their banh mis are great for an afternoon snack or a small lunch. They have four locations in Minneapolis and also offer catering services.

These sandwiches were excellent. Really good. We always like a good traditional Vietnamese sandwich. For the price, these big ol, bad boys can't be beat.BUT... if I had one tiny complaint- no one should eat that much pate on a sandwich. LIke no one. We scraped oof half of it off and still enjoyed the sando. They trying to give people heart attacks up in here...

Got two sandwiches the grilled pork bahn mi and the sausage. The pork was excellent 5/5, the sausage not so much. I'd go back and get other things for sure, I hear their basic cold cut is banging.
