Please come back… being a student without Malabari over 1 year has been so hard! I’ve only ate here once right before the pandemic. We miss your delicious goat biryani, chai, and warm naan in the winter! I have been checking this page time and time again and see “temporarily closed” still hope!!

Authentic Kerala dishes. The - appam-ishtoo combination is fabulous. Disappointed that the place is temporarily closed.

4 stars for food quality. Very limited food option but what they have in menu is very good. However, the restroom situation is beyond disgusting. They have one of the dirtiest restrooms I have ever seen in the US. You need to access the restroom by walking through the kitchen! And the worst thing is that the toilet does not flush properly! I won't visit the place until I hear that they have improved upon their restroom and general cleanliness situation. You could try ordering the food online to avoid their restroom situation. However, their cooks and kitchen staff would still use the same rest room! So, there you go.

Ordered delivery from Malabari Kitchen last night, here is what we ordered:Fish Pakoda - $7.25Fish Fry - $11.99Palappam(3) - $7.50Chicken Biryani - $13.99Red Fish curry with kokum - $13.99Fish pakoda was ok, nothing to write home about. Palappam was stone cold when we received it, which is understandable, Minnesota winters. Now here comes the problematic part. Fish fry was more like a leathery sandal and did not have a drop of oil on it, which tells me that it was not freshly made, should have been at least 3 days old. Every bite was like biting into a leathery sandal! And to think it is pretty pricey at $11.99! Same with Chicken Biryani, rice was clunky and dry, like that rice you get in Indian restaurants here in Minnesota which has been on the stove for way too long and all the rice on the side has dried up and become raw rice again. $13.99 for that! Worst of the lot was Red Fish curry. Can't believe we paid $13.99 for a chutney sized portion of the curry, it was so small that it was not sufficient for even one palappam.Disappointed!

Excellent excellent Kerala food which is apparently a rarity in the TC. Portions are more than good plentiful with family style being encouraged. Among the appetizers we got that really stood out included the Onion pakoda, fish pakoda, and Mini Samosas. Our group had to run back the onion pakoda bc it was so good. For my entree I had the Shrimp Biryani which was incredible. Meal had great flavor and spice to it (spice levels made to order) and the shrimp packed a good bite to it. I also sampled the beef masala (yum) and the Arabian Sea Dinner (piece of fish was the star of this dish). Huge rice portions for he table and I recommend the Naan.

Hidden gem! Great food. The server was very friendly. He had a good knowledge of the items on the menu and even some history and background of the dish ? we got to know that authentic Malabari food are a rare find in the midwest.

Excellent authentic Indian cuisine. My husband and I make the trip from New Prague when we can because it is the BEST Indian food. Butter Chicken, Chicken Biryani. So delicious!

The place could be easily 4 star for the food quality but the wait time is miserable. They claim the food is made from scratch but that doesn't justify a wait time for 1 hour and 20 minutes for 1 Biryani order. There were 2 tables with 5 people when we - party of 2 walked in. We enquired about wait time and was given a range of 30 minutes. Finally the biryani arrived after 1 hour 20 minutes.

This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants. The biryani is the BEST I've ever had. The food is south Indian, so a little different than typical food at an Indian buffet (better in my opinion!), but there are still familiar items on the menu. The owner is also fantastic! Seriously worth going to.

This place has authentic Kerala cuisine. The staff is very friendly. The host, Roger, is a great employee. He stayed after closing (we were late to pick up our food) so we could pick up our order. Great place to go for dinner.
