Matt's Bar is a very cozy classic bar that has stories ingrained into the wood. The juicy Lucy deserves all the hype, I tried it for the first time on my 34th birthday and stuck my candles in the burger itself 😁 If you don't mind rubbing elbows with strangers, slightly sticky table surfaces, low lighting and the smell of grease in the air for an amazing cheesy burger experience then don't wait 33 years like I did.

Great service and food. I opted for the famous Juicy Lucy and it did not disappoint! The waitress was sure to tell us to take small bites and let it cool before indulging into this beautiful yet modest looking bun covered flavor explosion 💥 Never judge a book by it's cover, this burger us fantastic. Go and enjoy when in the area 🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔

A definite must when in Minneapolis to try the original Jucy Lucy at Matt's Bar and Grill.

Weird smell inside the bar, juicy Lucy was pretty mid, fries are average. Waited long for our food and the place is very hot probably because it’s a really old building.

P.S.A. To all Tourist DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE, it’s is not worth the 45 minute wait on top of the 30 minute you wait to get your over cooked bland burger.

I never leave reviews but visiting this place finally brought me to leaving one. By far the worst burger I have ever been fed. The burger was wildly over cooked a dry hockey puck with I mean absolutely no Salt or Pepper a heaping pile of flavorless onions and way to many pickles.
The only saving grace was their fries they had McDonald style fry’s and that’s also where their Salt budget for the burgers went towards.
Quite possibly the most unorganized business I’ve ever visited. I don’t know how and why people even bother coming here.
I’d really prefer to leave 0 stars but google won’t left me.

If it was left alone as a hole in the wall dive bar and just killing their fake ass popular burger shit it probably would make a really cool place to grab some beers.

Amazing little dive with food. The wait time is just so long but that's not their fault it's just so small for how popular it is

Juicy Lucy, fries and a coke.
Burger was great...staff was Minnesota friendly, and the bar was dive but super clean. I really enjoyed my meal there.

I have been to Matt's several times. This time I was highly disappointed. The Jucy Lucy was small, overcooked, overpriced and not jucy. Won't take my out of town guests there anymore.

Known for their “Jucy Lucy” which are 2 Patties with cheese cooked inside. My family that lives here likes the Jucy Lucy and especially the fries from here. During the summer they say there are long lines out the door. We can here in December and it was pretty busy for a week night. They only accept cash or checks, no card. We were lucky and got seated quickly, service was also quick and I asked for a beer that goes well with it. My sister in law got a chicken sandwich and I put her lettuce in my Jucy Lucy. Beware to not bite into it quickly because the cheese squirts out. Every bite I took the cheese indeed came out and burned me. Their fries are really good. I opted to keep the pickles and onions in the burger which I enjoyed. It was nice inside and they still had Christmas decorations making it feel like a Christmas bar. There’s some street parking outside
