A friend and I visiting from out of town stopped by here for a couple of drinks outside. It’s unapologetically a neighborhood dive bar that looks to have been there for maybe 100 years. The outdoor patio has about 10 tables, next to the parking lot. Our waitress and bartenders were super friendly and nice. They are famous for the “Original” roast beef sandwich. So we ordered it. I wouldn’t order again. It was fine, but basically a massive pile of meat on a bun. Maybe it’s famous for how big it is.
The food and deals are good, but why does it feel like all the staff hates me? The bartender and servers are so mean for what??? The one lady server is nice - and the bouncers. Anyways, this place is cool, but if you come on a Friday or Saturday the service will kill your vibe

Shadow of it's former self. The food was less than "meh". One server busting his butt. Too brightly lit and filled with pub-crawlers to be enjoyable as a neighborhood dive.

this place used to have the yummiest roast beef, but the past few years have been awful. dry roast beef, it almost crumbles. def not worth $20/sandwich after taxes

You haven't done Northeast Minneapolis if you've never been to Slacks!! Good food, good drinks, good people watching. The original roast beef sandwich is no joke! Epically large portion that is delicious and guaranteed to put you in a meat coma while you're still chewing! I love love love the tots. You don't "need" them but the crunch is a great accompaniment to any meal.
***Added tot onto the sandwich in picture for scale.***
Note: I do not recommend the breakfast tots. I may have needed to be hungover to enjoy it. In theory, it sounds delicious but wasn't in reality.

Great, classic bar. Large food portions. Great sandwiches and onion rings. Hamm's taps are over priced, $8!!! (Couple months ago, anyway).

Decent bar. Drinks are reasonably priced. Definitely has dive bar feel inside. Has a nice outdoor patio section that gets busy on the weekend nights.
