Good drinks, food was okay.

The main issue we ran into was picking up our drinks. We ordered two drinks and two breakfast entrees. We sat ourselves at a table we thought was close enough to the bar to hear our order, but quickly realized we couldn’t hear the soft-spoken barista calling out the drinks at the bar. I joined three other customers standing near the bar, which had about three unclaimed drinks (one of which sat there for almost an hour). Clearly, we weren’t the only customers having trouble hearing the barista. After a few minutes, he quietly called out the drink I ordered and I waited a beat to see if anyone else would claim it. No one from the dining area got up for the drink, so I double-checked the ticket to make sure it was the exact drink I ordered - all good. Except, it apparently wasn’t. When I grabbed a straw and took a sip the barista told me “that’s not your drink.” My drink was supposed to come out with a ticket showing the TWO drinks we ordered. Noted! I felt terrible that I wasted the baristas time and stole a drink from another customer.

Maybe I’m an idiot, but I can’t help but wonder why an order name or number system isn’t used to prevent these type of situations? If the staff are so soft-spoken that drinks are left unclaimed for long periods of time, it would be nice to have another system in place for customers to double-check their ticket - not just an ingredient list.

I came here multiple times a week during medical school and it was the BEST place to study. Warm atmosphere and very cozy feeling. Great drinks and white bean soup. Feels like a home away from home.

The food that is any sort of “cultural” like huevos rancheros or banh mi, are atrocious. I’ve never seen anything like that before I swear. The banh mi was a LITERAL chicken mayo wrap. I asked them if they had the correct order they looked AT ME like I was crazy. Never again that is straight up racist. To call that thing a banh mi. Vietnamese people would NEVER.

Perhaps the cutest shop in Minneapolis. Immaculate vibes. The decor is made by local artists and can be purchased!

Historically inappropriate and offensive art pieces are available for sale. When asked, the owner justifies it and claims he knows history. Retaliatory, aggressive, arrogant, and defensive.

Seems popular for those needing computer space. Clean and quiet enough. The server had an excellent attitude.

The food choices were few, although affordable. However, the Bahn MI sandwich sadly misnamed - it had noooo relation to that sandwich. Also, the lemonade was weak and basically water tasting halfway through.

Mojo coffee gallery was such a fun experience! There is purchasable pottery, artwork and misc stuff all over. The human at the front was super kind, chatty and full of smiles! It looked like they very much enjoyed their job, and it showed. The coffee options were ample as were alternative milk options. There were indoor and outdoor seating and it was a cozy place! The air was intermittently felt although it was hot as heck and appreciated!

I was in town for Art-A-Whirl last weekend and was heading to the California Building so it was super convenient there was a cafe connected to it. I grabbed a Big Fat Burrito for a late breakfast and it filled a void in my hungry stomach. They could’ve maybe crisped up the tortilla a little longer on the flat top but it otherwise tasted pretty good. It sort of reminded me of a tex mex burrito with the rice and beans plus it was enough food to keep me going for a while. Pretty unique crowd with some live music going at the time, and I was really digging the overall design of the space as well. It had a vintage feel with the style of certain furniture but rustic at the same time with the wood features. Not a bad little spot.
