We’ve been going to Murray’s for 20+ years and it’s always delightful. Staff are attentive and helpful. The steaks and sides are delicious. Chateaubriand is amazing.

We visited Minneapolis for a weekend getaway and decided to try Murray’s since we love trying new steak houses in various cities. Murray’s came highly recommended and I’ll admit I was greatly disappointed. When you pay $200 for dinner, you have expectations on the quality of the food and service. The food was Fine. And I say Fine, because the steak was actually pretty good but the asparagus was definitely steamed and basically soggy, and then tossed in oil to give you the impression of sauté. It wasn’t. The French onion soup was all right, but not much onion at all. Now, for the most tragic part, the service. First off, they placed us (a two top) right next to the servers station so all you heard all night was computer printing and servers getting water etc. That was very annoying. Second, the atmosphere was okay but definitely brighter than typical steak houses we’ve been to. And the lastly and the worst, our server was Anthony. He barely stayed at your table for seconds so you couldn’t even ask him a question without tracking him down. And it was clear he didn’t take his job seriously when he started arguing with me about my Dairy Allergy. Now, I don’t go into anaphylactic shock but it is such an extreme sensitivity that even traces of dairy can give me such abdominal pain and an upset stomach. So, it’s become much easier to tell restaurants I have an allergy so they take it more seriously. When I told this to Anthony, he literally argued with me about the clarified butter on the steak being okay to still eat. NO. Second, he then goes, well that’s your call. Thanks. Third, when I asked him about the French Onion soup being DF he replied, yeah I think it is, just no croutons or cheese but didn’t verify with the kitchen. So, assuming that he wouldn’t make such a declaration without knowing I believed him. Dinner came and went and his service continued to be lackluster all night. Towards the end of the meal, I became very uncomfortable. We went back to the hotel, and needless to say, it was a terrible, terrible evening. Even the next day, I’m was still in pain and couldn’t eat much. I called Murray’s once they opened and the girl on the phone checked with the kitchen and verified that the French Onion soup had butter in it! I’m irate and suffered greatly by his insulting behavior and his incompetence. We will never go back and I don’t recommend going to anyone with a food allergy as they will not care one bit.

Food was excellent. Staff friendly and efficient. Went for late lunch after Big10 bball games at the Target CTR. Decided that we would go back the next day. We had the Raspberry Pie which is to die for. There were six of us and we shared one slice which was just enough considering the size of the bar menu steak sandwiches. Definitely a place to return to next time we are in Minneapolis.?

Try the green beans. The best for a date night. Table-side carving is a nice touch.

What is there to say about Murray's that hasn't already been said a thousand times? The Silver Butter Knife Steak is every bit as good as it's ever been, and the lovely woman who carved it next to the table was proud of the fact that she's been working at Murray's for over a decade and still gets to carve steaks. Heck, she might've even carved my steak the first time I came here years back. The food is ridiculous, but what sets this place - and every other great restaurant - apart is the ambience and the service. I'll keep coming back as long as it's open, which had better be forever.

Overall a good experience, steaks were good but the sides were kind of lacking. The mashed potatoes were either instant potatoes or they were very waterlogged when they made them as there was almost zero flavor in them. Asparagus was cooked well however. Steak could have been trimmed better as well as my ribeye had quite a bit of silverskin and unchewable pieces. I would rather you sold me a 14oz cut correctly rather than an 18oz w/ 4oz of gristle. Steaks were however cook properly, possibly sous vide then finished in a broiler for how fast they came out.Cocktails were a bit expensive for no reason it seemed as well, as some of the drinks had more expensive pours and were 30% cheaper than those made with much cheaper booze.Service was amazing. Atmosphere was great too.

Excellent dining experience! We shared the silver butter knife steak for two and had plenty to bring home. The Caesar salad was very fresh and au gratin potatoes were really good. Mashed potatoes were just ok. For dessert we had the cheesecake and blueberry bread pudding and both were amazing. Our server Dennis was great!

For me, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience as it's costly. But all was great.

I invited my oldest son to a Birthday lunch for him. I chose Murray's because of the close proximity to his work, and because it really spells out "special occasion" when you choose to dine there. We had a wonderful time, including a great catch up. It was also fun to learn about the history Murray's as I left.

The food and service was fantastic, but we were located outside the main dining room. Some people might prefer that spot because it's quieter, but I like dining room better. Always a great evening at Murray's.

We had a great time at Murrays. I hadn't been there in a while and was thrilled to see it thriving. Austin was our server and he was great and the whole staff was attentive, thoughtful, kind and efficient. The garlic toast is deadly; I'm embarrassed that I had 6 pieces, therefore relatively full by the time we start on the meal. Despite that, I loved the Ceasar salad, oysters Rockefeller, filet, loaded hashbrowns, broccolini, poblano corn (this has a kick!) and au gratin potatoes. It was a wonderful evening. I would not recommend dinner at Murrays for someone trying to restrict their calories or fat intake - it's hard to turn down so many tempting treats, though others may have more restraint.
