My husband and I took our daughters out for dinner. Nightingale is a lovely restaurant with a bar in the middle. We started with deviled eggs, mushroom bruschetta and french fries. For entrées, we had the Meyer lemon risotto, hangersteak, scallops, and sunchoke soup. I didn't think the french fries were that good and my husband said the lemon risotto was not that great either but everything else was delicious. Service was excellent.

Was looking for a nice, spontaneous place for a night out, and this place did not disappoint.A very varied cocktail and wine list (beer included). We got the meat plate and cheese plate that had lots of unique choices like duck pastrami, and a weekly special lamb/goat burger that was amazing in flavor. They had a dessert menu too but we were stuffed - next time ?.

The food was 5 star. Let me tell you - the Rueben Benedict was top notch! Loved the art and look of the place. The service we received from our waitress was bad. We weren't approached after our food came for nearly 30 minutes and I had to ask for the waitress to come over. Which appeared to be an inconvenience to her to have to service us rather than her other tables. Then we were given the wrong beverage and another waitress brought us the correct one. She said the drink we were given was meant for her table - so we could just keep them both. (Thumbs-up service there). Our waitress then noticed we had two new drinks and came over asking us about the extra drink. It felt like we were having to explain too much why we had another beverage and got awkward quick. The other waitress reproached our table again - this time to help our waitress understand the mixup. It was uncomfortable and I felt disrespected. Too bad. The cooks are amazing!

Great atmosphere and our waiter was exceptional. Our table was a bit underwhelmed at the food. Wasn’t bad, but I expected a bit more given the quality of the rest of the restaurant. We had the shrimp toast, bruschetta, and steak tartare.Great espresso martinis!
We were big fans of Nightingale before Covid, but haven’t eaten out much since. Frankly, we’ve been turned off by the 20% surcharge in many Minneapolis restaurants and the poorer quality of food in some places. It just wasn’t worth the expense. …..That said, last night our dining experience at Nightingale was a WONDERFUL trip to the “before times” (before Covid). Two of us shared 4 small plates that were unique and exceptionally prepared - - - what we used to love about Nightingale. We had a fabulous, delicious meal served by staff who didn’t hover, but always arrived just when we wanted them to. As always, the ambiance was lovely. The cost was an excellent value. We will definitely be coming back again! Congratulations to the owners and staff who managed to maintain this little slice of heaven through the very challenging Covid years. Well done!

I've been here a couple times for dates, but we won't be coming back while the owners are so anti-safe streets and anti-cyclists and pedestrians.I'm really disappointed in the owners, I thought they were better than this. It was so easy for us to bike over from my house on Grand, rather than take the car for such a short trip. But when a location is hostile like this, we'd rather stay home.I welcome the owner to have a conversation with us about how the Lyndale improvements will be a good thing for businesses.
