We picked this restaurant out of a handful within a short walk to the Luminary Arts Center. Since I noticed in previous reviews that it was noisy, I requested the most quiet spot available. We were happy they showed us to the window tables which worked for us. Service was great. I particularly liked the Loosen Riesling and the Miso Walleye!

Absolutely great breakfast food and service was awesome and attentive. Only negative was that they don't have an espresso machine.

Food was excellent. Quite noisy, but we were given a booth with high backs and were able to easily hear conversation at our table. Love seeing the place was busy with lots of young people and a mix of other ages. Minneapolis is alive and well. Wishing Nolos lots of success.

I hate to do this to a local restaurant but I had a disappointing experience here last weekend…
I wanted to order the Chipotle Sweet Potato Hash but I don’t eat red meat, so I asked if I could swap it for the turkey sausage in the dish and was told it’s restaurant policy to not allow meat substitutions…. The server said I could get it without bacon and then separately order a side of the turkey sausage, which made no sense to me since a side of the bacon and the turkey sausage were equally priced… So that severely limited my options for a savory breakfast options since most have red meat and I ended up getting it without the bacon.
The hollandaise was well seasoned and the kale breakfast salad was DELISH! However, the sweet potatoes were mostly undercooked to the point that they were crunchy and they tasted unseasoned…
Heard such great things about NOLO and this was the opposite of the online reviews and my friends reviews so maybe it was just an off day for the restaurant.

The double cheeseburger was good.🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

However; a couple of tips to make it better.
Tip: 1. Get rid of the bun; too much bread for a double meat burger. Also; consider less bread & a toasted bun.

Tip 2. Treat your to go order customers with dignity..... Keep in mind they could have ordered from somewhere else.

Tip 3. Energy is everything; what you give is what you get in return.

We did not have a reservation for Saturday brunch and were told it would be an hour wait. Instead, we sat at the bar. During the entire time we were at the bar, there were multiple available booths and tables that were never used. After a while, I even asked the hostess if the booths and tables had reservations and she said yes. However, there were many that stayed vacant and available. Also, the Chicken Pozole soup was simple Chicken soup with hominy. It was definitely not Pozole.

The Rice Bowl that I had was not only beautifully arranged and a fantastic variety, but delicious and a good quantity. My friend got the curry, it was very spicy and pretty soupy. Unfortunately the open space was very noisy and made conversation very difficult. I've been here a number of times and have had generally very good experiences, but I will only stay if a booth is available.

First time in my life my DL has ever been denied. Staff stated they recently conducted a training so our young waiter wasn't comfortable with accepting my DL because he was scared of getting in trouble... what?! You don't deny a DL because you're "unsure" if it's fake or not. It's either a fake, or it isn't.

Did not appreciate that the front host took 5 minutes to google & research what a MN driver's license looks like RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME (as if he couldn't simply take out his own to compare with mine), then provides incorrect reasons for the denial. No gold star on a DL doesn’t mean it’s not a real MN driver’s license. It simply means the license can’t be used for domestic travel at airports.

Subsequently, "the picture is a bit blurry" has got to be the most ridiculous reason to deny a DL. First time I've ever heard that.

Then the front host turned to me and states after all of this research, "Sorry, if the waiter doesn't feel comfortable serving you, then it's out of my hands," well then why did you just waste 5 minutes of our time to google what a DL looks like?! All while having a smile on his face. Completely disrespectful. It's like your staff enjoyed denying my license. Mind you I'm 27-years old!

Taking time to look up what a DL looks like in front of customers is so unprofessional. It screams incompetence. Then when the reasons you give are completely wrong and you still deny it? Wow. Never going here again.
