Best Donburi I’ve ever had easily. I tried the curry (pictured), chicken (Tori don) and pork (Buta don), and the pork was by far the best. One of my new favorites! The patio was also very cute.

Great neighborhood spot serving some fun and exciting options. We each had the udon and an onigiri on the side, and both were super delicious! The udon noodles were tender and chewy, and the broth was savory and satisfying. Loved the onigiri as well and will definitely come back for more. Seating is limited and first come, first served so plan accordingly.

If you’re looking for a cozy spot with seriously good Japanese comfort food, Okome House in South Minneapolis is it. Tucked into the Longfellow neighborhood, this place serves up all the good stuff—onigiri, donburi, udon—and does it really well.

We tried three dishes: Tori Karaage (fried chicken) – Crispy, golden, and coated with a miso-soy glaze. Juicy thigh meat inside, crunchy outside, and the green onions on top gave it just the right pop of flavor.
