I am so fortunate to have stumbled upon this gem while in search of a French style patisserie. There are other businesses that claim to be patisseries, but this is the real deal. The location is easy to get to, even for someone who doesn't live in Minneapolis. The parking is easy, and the neighborhood feels safe. We loved the almost dark academia ambience that is inside - warm lighting, dark interior. It creates a cozy feel and makes you feel sophisticated, even if you're just trying to satisfy the Saturday morning sweet tooth like we were. Ordering was easy, and the lady gathering our items was very friendly and explained things well. We ordered a vanilla St. Honoré, pain au chocolat, croissants, and an Elise (yes, I'm saying it in a French accent to feel more fancy). The viennoiserie are baked Euro-style, meaning a bit darker than what you'd find in a regular American bakery. The many flaky layers could be seen, and there's a delightful crunch when you take a bite. The sweetness of the Elise was "just enough." We enjoyed everything except for the iced mochas. Those weren't quite as chocolatey or sweet as we're used to. If we could improve anything, it would be to give an option to have something warmed, like the pain au chocolat. It's a little spendy, but you're getting real croissants- not Costco croissants. Will definitely be coming back.

The desserts were fantastic, if you have the time, sit and enjoy them there. Got a ham and cheese baguette for lunch and it was one of the best baguettes I have ever had.

Best Pastry shop I have tried so far in the Twin Cities!Very good quality pastries and being an amateur of french pastries, I can tell that whoever is behind this (both the chef and the cooks) know their craft.A big shout out for the cannelés !!! They taste as though made right from Bordeaux. It has been so many years since I was able to have such delicious cannelés.This place is a gem, it's not easy to find such a pasty shop in the US. I highly recommend it.

Patisserie 46 is one of the best bakeries anywhere in the world! Their croissants are Parisian. Their "basic" chocolate layer cake sets the standard.

Love this place. Great pastries and good coffee. We went two days in a row, and we'll certainly go back again soon.

We had a delicious avocado toast with a creamy avocado paste that was delicious. The toast was little bit over toast and hard. And the avocado paste needed a little bit of salt and pepper. It was delicate and fresh. The latte was also good.I went a Sunday morning there was a line of people along their counter, that moved very quickly. The time between ordering and serving was very short. I recommend it.

Don't misunderstand this review, I love this business. It's my go to for Croissants in the whole Twin Cities. I know what I talking about. I did a sampling of Croissants, using various criteria, from 14 different Twin Cities establishments. BUT, on my most recent purchase, this week, something with the Croissants seems changed. Insides seemed more, too dense and outside was ALOT less crumbs flying all over, which is what a perfect Croissant should do. Also, the person who waited on me seemed to try to push other products, which I wasn't asking for. This has never happened before.

Can't go wrong with any of the bake goods. Haven't tried the coffee yet, but I'm sure it's good as well. The line went by fast but a lot of people inside, it'll be hard to find a seat.Parking: Street parking. Might have to walk a block or so.

I had a bit of a sweet tooth and we were in the area so I ran in. I asked the person behind the counter what the best thing for a chocolate lover would be, and he suggested a chocolate cookie. I selected a lemon tart for myself, and two banana caramels (one for each of us). My husband said he thought the cookie was boring and dry. I tried a bite and have to say I agree! The lemon tart was better, and had a great balance between sweet and tart. The lemon cream was perfect, but the crust was really dry and reminded me more of a cracker than a sweet crust. I also think it was a little over priced. The caramels had a great texture and flavor. They were chewy, but not too hard.

Very disappointed with the lack of service and lack of management resolution. We went on Saturday. There were tables, but people that don't respect other diners and instead of seating at a table for when there were 2 people that is very disrespectful. Now, the management also does not care. And I don't care if those disrespectful people get upset because they were going to be told that they should not sit on a table for 6 when they were 2 or in a table for 4 when he was only one. The irresponsible management that only thing that did was that we left with a 7 year-old granddaughter. Of course they don't care, because people will pour in like they usually do without seeing or caring about the reality of the indifferent service. Nobody cares lately. If the food is bad or good, if the service is bad or good they go and ingest food, they don't eat, they don't relax or savor the food, enjoying the taste and the good company and the good moment. Only ingesting the food. There will be no other time there.

If you are elderly and standing alone, the staff will do their best to ignore you. Have seen it many times with other customers as well. Such a shame. The place way too crowded for the square footage. The pastries are good.
