The freshest pho on the south side. The food comes out so fast it's unbelievable sometimes, and the wontons are tangy and sweet like a Rangoon. Such a wonderful place.

I'm a pho fanatic and was excited to try this place, have heard good reviews about their pho. I was in the area and glad to check this off my list. Service was good and food came out quick.3/10 Pho dac biet - portion was small for the price, they were conservative with the noodle and meat portions. Light milky broth, watered down, lacked depth and beef flavor, no aroma other than the cilantro and green onions. Overall, tasted as if not much effort was put into the broth.2/10 Bun bo hue - portion was small, they were conservative with the noodle and meat portions/variety. The broth lacked flavor and depth, all I can taste was the salt and shrimp paste. Both, broth and meats were overly pungent, meat tasted old, definitely the most pungent bun bo hue I've experienced.Spring rolls - typical, nothing special. Peanut sauce was good.Chicken wings - crispy, juicy and seasoned well. Best item I ordered on the menu.

Let’s start off this would have been a 4 star rating however they overcharged me and I couldn’t refute it because I didn’t get a bill. They just rang us up with us never seeing the bill. The yelling over the intercom was annoying. Otherwise the food was good. Probably won’t be back unless under a major bind. PS. They have CityPage award signs up… CityPage is so 1999.

A friend told me this place was recommended by a Vietnamese guy for best pho in town. Maybe my tastes are different, but I found the pho a little bland, especially having recently eaten at MT Noodle in Brooklyn Park. Points for a generous plate of herbs and sprouts to accompany my bowl. Atmosphere is absolutely what you'd expect in a mom and pop restaurant: brightly lit, lots of knick knacks, Vietnamese Christmas carols playing (it's late December.) Service was friendly, prices average.

If you've read any of my other reviews I love Vietnamese soups and I have a couple favorite places. Since my favorite on eat street is closed on Thursdays I tried Pho Tau Bay. I had the G1 Banh Mi with grilled pork and meatballs and the #30 Mi -Yellow Egg Noodle(pork broth soup) which turned out to be a soup on the side soup. I only intended to eat half the Banh mi but it was probably one of the best I've had and I quickly devoured it. Sweet and salty pork, crunchy warm bread, spicy jalapeño and crunchy veggies - 5 stars. The soup, deconstructed soup I guess was just okay. The broth was Luke warm and lacked the deep flavor of my favorites. I had to try to layer in more flavor with the accompaniments of which I will say they have a good selection. I really enjoyed the fried egg wonton with the shrimp inside that came on the side - 3 stars. Ambiance was seriously lacking and the place was kind of dingy and smelled a bit musty. I almost didn't even go in when I saw Nicollet ending and the condition of the building next door - 2 stars. So all in all I'd say it's a 3.5 stars for me but I will definitely be back to try more of the Banh Mi selections and the bun Bo hue.

On December 1, 2023 I went to this restaurant after work with my family and our children. The waitress rushed us the moment we came in. As soon as we can in, we were seated and water was brought to us as we were taking our coats off. Which is fine, but we just wanted to be situated first. Nonetheless, we stayed because thei ratings were amazing! We started with appetizers and each item was freezing cold, but tried our best to enjoy the meal. Next, we ordered the entrees. I did not enjoy my meal because it was entirely too salty. I kindly shared that with the waitress and she stared at me and walked away. The manager then came over with her husband and asked what was wrong with the food. I then stated that I did not like it. She then asked me why and I shared that it was too salty for my liking. She then proceeded to tell me that I should not order things I do not like. Her husband then came and played in the food and asked what was wrong with it. The manager then said that she has been working there for 27 years and everyone likes the food and told me that I should not come back anymore. The husband then put his hand in my face and told me to “pipe down.” I was disrespected, received terrible service, talked down to and I was nothing but respectful. I will never return to this place.

On 12/1/2023, I went to have dinner with my lovely friends, daughter and nephew just to get the worst service I’ve EVER experienced. The waitress rushed us to order. Brung multiple cold appetizers to the table. The food was disgusting. When the waitress was told that the food was not good, she stared and walked away. Her and her coworkers continually talked in Vietnamese, pacing back and fourth and starring at our table. The manager and her husband came over and asked why my friend did not like her food. She said she didn’t because it was too salty. The manager then proceeded to play in the food, tell her if you don’t like it don’t order it and to not come back next time. When my friend tried to express her concerns the husband put his hand in her face and told her to pipe down. They continually talked in Vietnamese in our faces and lied about not being able to speak English. Upon paying the manager tried to ask for a tip, after the terrible service was given! I will never eat there again!

If I could give these ppl 0 stars I would. They staff is racist and disrespectful to black ppl. Somebody merely not liking the food bc they are heavy with the salt means they get to be a bunch of racist a**holes and blame their s***** work on the customer. DO NOT spend your money here! They are overpriced for basic food that tastes disgusting along with s***** service.
