Always thought the beef patty was homemade until my kid seen the name brand on it. I didn’t mind paying $6.50 per patty. But these are frozen patties imported and paying $6.50 for that was very disappointing. Frozen cost for 8 is $18. So disappointing I would drive 35 minutes just for those patties 😞😕

Pimento can't be doing well. You never know if they will be open. The cafe hours are random too. The food is WAY too expensive and unappraling on a hot summer day. Why are they serving food in STYROFOAM containers!!! The huge 'dining' area on the water - best views in Mpls, but it is very underutilized. $6.5 million renovation - and the best part are the new toilets. This Vendor should be replaced for 2025.

Was closed! Paper signs on door and windows stating hours open. They need to keep their website up to date with this information rather than taping paper signs to the building and people having to drive there to get info. Our group drove over 45 minutes to try this place. I am very disappointed in lack of communication.

Stopped in for coffee while walking around the lake, was nice to warm up. We were served by Ilaida she’s super friendly!

I thought the new building turned out well and Pimento opened pretty strong. Long lines and some growing pains were to be expected, but I had nice experiences picking up a glass of wine and the indoor market and then sitting outside to enjoy the views and music. Unfortunately, things have not improved but declined. I've waited an inexplicably long time for food I didn't care for at all (the shrimp), they are frequently out of food and drink items, the staff seems indifferent or confused, and I think this is reflected in the lack of patrons even on gorgeous, sunny days. I hope either Pimento or the Park Board can get it together because the spot is still excellent and should be an amenity both to visitors and neighborhood folks.

Hi Tommy,
I tried to make an order tonight at 8 p.m. No one was at the station, no cashiers were behind the island to collect payment and take orders. Additionally, when I attempted to use the self pay option all cash registers were blocked requiring an employees pass code. I could only know this because no one was working for you or the business. I'd love to supporting your business but I cannot if your employees choose not to work. Happy to discuss this personally. Please check your cameras at this date and time.

Food is bland and overpriced. Flavor is added only with a sauce.

Staff seems confused, not trained well and not very customer focused. Last time I was there, the owner lost his temper with me regarding the drink machine/tap wall thing. Super rude to the point I almost vowed to not go back.

Came back today - and 3 handles on the tap wall are empty (including the one white wine). It’s Friday at 3pm. Sucks to drive all the way here and then not have basic drinks available. I hope they get it sorted out sooner than later. Off to Bread & Pickle.

This place is the absolute worst. Everytime I come 90% of the beers are not available. It's super overpriced and the service is terrible. They had tall boy summit cans for $10 up until a week ago which is way too expensive. I came today and they now offer small 12 oz cans of summit for the same $10 price. This place is a total ripoff. What a waste of a beautiful location. Will not be back.

Location is nice although food and service are very mediocre and overpriced. There’s a separate ordering process for food and beer makes it confusing.

Great location to grab a bite to eat if you walking by the lake prices are reasonable and the food was fresh!

The food was ok but overpriced and the service sucked. Also inexplicably, there are signs everywhere stating "You are on Native land" ??????

I originally somewhat liked the food at the location on Nicollet, and was trying to be optimistic about them being at Bde Maka Ska, but it’s unfortunately the same very average offerings. When we went last night (Wednesday), they were out of Island Slaw, which was supposed to come with the food. The woman taking our order didn’t tell us, and seemed to be irritated by asking if they would replace it with something else. And she didn’t even mention a sauce came with, and believe me, that meat is a little dry and definitely needs something… This was then followed by an attempt to get a beer and found five of the six options — only one local — were tapped out… C’mon, City of Minneapolis, you can do better than this! For such a beautiful site overlooking the lake, there are undoubtedly better food vendors!

I’m a huge fan of Pimento on Nicollet and I was excited to try their newest location on Bde Maka Ska, known as “Pimento on the Lake.” Not surprisingly, the location is beautiful. There are plenty of places to sit and take in the views of the lake, as well as shady spots for those particularly hot days. The overall pavilion is a major upgrade from the previous building (which was home to Tin Fish.)

As for the food, it was delicious as always. We ordered the standard jerk chicken combo with chicken, rice, beans, plantains and a little slaw. We also tried the jerk black bean burger and it was very tasty. The fries were even better, crispy and flavorful.

Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. We ordered our food and no one told us what happened next. The person at the register just handed us a receipt without saying a word. Fortunately, when we wandered around the corner to find a table, we saw the signs for a separate pick-up window. No problem. We waited. It took about 15 minutes and no one else was waiting for food besides us. No big deal. But after picking up our food, I realized the waters were missing. I went back to the pick-up window, only to be completely ignored by 4-5 different staff members over the course of 10 minutes. I mean, they all looked at me from back at their stations several times, but no one moved. Finally, I had to ask in a loud voice (they were all back in the kitchen) “Hello?? Can someone help me??” Reluctantly, someone wandered over to tell me: “You have to get your water from the other window.” So, I went back to where I originally paid, stood in line for 5 more minutes, and finally received our waters.

I wish I could give Pimento on the Lake 5 stars. The food and location are outstanding. But the service was lacking that day and I believe they’ll improve over time. I hope they will! We’ll go back and try again soon.
