Best vegetarian breakfast joint in the State. It's more like an institution a landmark.
Seward Cafe is a staple it leaves a recurrent memory in your pallet as well in your soul.
Community neighborhood oriented and respected.
The absolute best

My glob, I loved this place as a kid, but something is off about this place after re-opening. My half baked muffin this morning was absolutely disgusting and mostly unbaked dough in the center. Service was very unprofessional and not very helpful at all.

Perfect weekend morning foo & beverages, and good vibes every time.
Nice cafe in the area. Interior felt retro and colorful. None of that bland minimalist garbage. Had a nice cookie and chips. Free water was available.
Two minor comments for me. Occasionally there was this really awful whirring im not sure if it was speaker feedback, blenders going, or if some of the punk rock songs had that kind of deliberate feedback. It was loud and happened a few times. If you have sensory issues you may have a bad experience. Other thing is lot of ACAB stuff all over the place. Not my place to judge, im from out of town and i know people are mad at police rn. But just be aware these folks wear their politics pretty openly and if that bothers you, you might want to pick somewhere else.

All around excellent place. Would recommend if you enjoy a place with a sense of community and individual expression. And the food is amazing.

We usually have really positive experiences here, but today was not it. The person who took our order was borderline dismissive of allergen concerns and was very preoccupied talking with a friend at the counter, to the point their friend was the one who refilled our coffees despite them not being an employee at the cafe. Our order also took 50 minutes to receive and when we checked on it, the person at the counter rolled their eyes.

Always the best. Been going here for over 20 years, but moved away from MN in 2014. I was devastated that it closed during covid and remained closed while I was last in MN.
Fast forward to May, visiting Minnesota and so happy to find it open and working as it used to. Me, my husband and our friend went and enjoy the breakfast and coffee as we had years before.
I was a little sad that you don't write your own ticket and the coffee is no longer self serve, but I absolutely understand these changes.
Will make sure to visit every time I'm in the area.

The coffee is decent and the atmosphere is uniquely dated. The prices are fine, the food is good, and I overall recommend this place.

Fantastic vibes, food and drinks. Stopped in just minutes before the kitchen closed and wasn’t rushed in ordering food and drinks. Got a vegan breakfast burrito which was INCREDIBLE and also loved the vegan sausage biscuit. Biked over from the river and was lovely to sip on refreshing drinks- got the lemonade and Jamaica, both so delicious. And the vibes are wonderful- a chill welcoming patio + truly a community space within. Can’t wait to return
