The cafe is back! The full breakfast and brunch menu has returned. The biscuits and gravy (vegan or not) are excellent. Enormous fluffy pancakes and scrambles are also stars of the menu. Full range of espresso drinks and creative herbal tea blends. If you are uncomfortable with the anarchist/ antifa scene... You won't like Seward Cafe.

Getting my name called out wrong is normally fine but also getting served cold biscuits and gravy was a bit much. Consider not dishing out cold food like your customers don't have a sense of taste. Definitely sticking to Hard Times.

I've been a customer going waay back, but several years ago have moved further away, so my visits are much rarer now.It still has the hippy vibe, which has been my jam all along. My most recent visit was disappointing and did not live up to previous visits over the years. The B&G have been the best I've found dining out- and vegan to boot! This time though, this dish was a little different. I don't know if they tweaked the recipe or something, they just weren't quite the same as the dish I have come to love. The hasbrowns were so brown, dark, and overcooked, they were unedible...and I am not picky. The food was also cold/lukewarm- I got my order as soon as I was called and I was listening intently, so I feel confident I didnt miss it.I don't know if I like the interior being stripped of a decent amount of seating either, however it is nice they have a stage and comfy chairs.I hope this experience was just a bump in the road and next time I visit, it will be the Seward Cafe that I fell in love with

Wasn't thinking about it being vegetarian, so maybe wouldn't have ordered biscuits and "gravy." Pretty good for mushroom gravy though. Had to put up with a couple loudly and vulgarly arguing about their cell phone SIM cards for about 20 minutes. It completely ruined the atmosphere. They didn't even order anything. Staff should have approached them.

A quaint and chill spot. I showed up an hour before close and I am eternally grateful to the staff for not rushing me or making me feel rushed, despite them very obviously getting ready for closing. As someone with severe social anxiety, this went a long way. And I was able to take in the ambiance of the space while enjoying my drink: a matcha latte with oat milk. Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area!

Seward Cafe is simply the best! The food is great, and it’s an excellent community space. Everyone is welcome, and you feel good about supporting a worker-led cooperative. I love the vegan biscuits and gravy, but everything is delicious and fairly priced.

This has always been a favorite place because they have vegan biscuits and gravy on the menu. It’s been about 8 years since I visited and I’m happy to report it hasn’t changed much. The quantity of food for the price is pretty much unmatched for vegan options. I ordered the biscuit breakfast with tofu. I was very happy with the cold press coffee, it was perfect.Garden seating was so nice on an August morning. All of the space made it felt very private and chill.Vegetarian options: So many vegetarian and vegan options.Parking: Number of spots available will depend on when you visit. Parking could be limited during winter months or busy times.

The atmosphere is cute. The coffee is good. The baked goods are good. The baristas always seem angry and inconvenienced to help anyone they don’t already know.

Tons of vegan options - almost everything on their menu can be made vegan. The pancakes and vegan sausage are delicious!
