Spent for $45 dinner for two but could not eat 2/3rd of the food. They tried to push big bowl of rice when I requested Chapati and goat meat. I suggest you avoid going there after 6:30PM.

Large tasty portions of Indian food is what me and my family had for dinner at this small cozy restaurant on Lake Street. Next time we’ll share a portion.

So delicious, and ACTUALLY spicy! So many places around here do “MInnesota spicy” but I got a “medium” here and it actually had a good kick! Super delicious, and solid vegan options. Thanks Shifa!

Dined in and got the birayani and the ultimate goat. Absolutely delicious. I can't recommend this place enough!

We ordered online and had to wait an ADDITIONAL 20 minutes than expected for the tandoori chicken to be ready, since it was the first order of the night. The chicken was very overdone and not flavored well. The goat we got had lots of bones in it and also was severely overdone. The best part of the meal was the garlic naan and the rice.

I ordered a feast for my family, and the meal didn’t disappoint! We ordered takeout and ate it in our backyard. The staff was warm and welcoming when we arrived, and the hot was hot and ready to go. The entree portion sizes are huge, so you can definitely split an entree between a few people. The flavors were delightful- rich and aromatic. The rice was perfectly cooked, and the samosas were wonderfully crispy. The mango lassi and Somali tea were absolutely incredible and were my favorite part of the meal. I’d stop by just for the tea or a lassi. A word to the wise— their medium spice level is legitimately spicy and not for the faint of heart. I’m a wimp when it comes to spice, and I’d suggest ordering “mild” if you’re like me. If you have a tolerance, by all means, order medium! Overall, a lovely experience and I’ll be back again for sure.

I'm beating myself up for not eating here sooner! Not only are the staff just the loveliest, the food was incredible! I got a variety of entrees to share, garlic naan, and samosas. I loved the variety of textures and all the beautiful spice flavor profiles. The mango lassi was solid, but the real star of the drinks was the Somali tea! I'm instantly hooked. What a great neighborhood spot

Very nice business environment and mind resetting. I drove to Shifa Restaurant from Bloomington, MN, almost 15 miles apart just to get the Somalian Chai, a nice tea with ginger and other tea spice ingredients that make you feel refreshed. Nice owners that welcome you with smile. Very clean environment, aswellI highly recommend trying the tea!

Wonderful meals. We ordered a mild and a medium. Both were delicious. Servings were large and we both had two filling meals. Service was great, they graciously helped us with our selections. Will definitely return.

Good food and love Somali tea. This will be a weekly stop by for me. Try the Somali tea, it's wonderful.

I got takeout from here for a handful of friends today - everything was very fresh and HOT upon pick up, and the service was very friendly. We got a variety of veggie and meat dishes. The consensus was, everything was incredibly delicious! The medium heat was good, but most folk said they would be going for the next heat level next time. The portions are quite generous, so we're all looking forward to leftovers for the rest of the week.

The staff were very warm and friendly. Unfortunately, I can't say that I was that impressed by the food. I ordered the chapati wrap along with a moghal saagwala. Both the chicken and the vegtables tasted as if they were frozen and then reheated. The wrap completely fell apart when I picked it up, and when they folded the wrap in paper they managed to include paper on the inside of the wrap.

WEW this is good food. Generous portions (leftovers!!), delicious spices, super well cooked. What else can I say? It’s damn good Indian and African food.

Great place...the owner offered us free mango lassi. We ordered the goat, chicken suqqa, and the spinach indian dish. Everything was well seasoned and a very unique flavor (for us). Rice was fluffy and the place was generally clean. The chef took our order and was very polite. Overall a great atmosphere and awesome food.
