Garbage! Idk where to start but I can say I gave them a chance when I shouldn’t. Food tasted like it was microwaved , the brisket was gummy and chewy! I wouldn’t even give it to a dog. The mac had alot of seasoning and something gritty in weird lumps. I’m a big boy I try dif macs and I think they missed that batch. I didn’t smell the “smoked “ meat Bs , like they took chicken sht and turned it into chicken salad . It’s all a finesse idk if they just noook it in the microwave or they just ain’t got drip but naaaaaa hard pass. I would like my money back tbh no re dos I can’t see it getting better

I ordered our meal through GrubHub. The chicken wings were a bit dry, the catfish was decent. I asked for mashed potatoes but was sent a toddler sized handful of fries and baked beans. I ordered a side of Mac and cheese. Yikes!!! The Mac and cheese was HORRIBLE...Is this what they consider to be Mac and cheese?? It was like tuna macaroni salad, but they realized they didn't have any tuna so they were like hmm let's try Mac and cheese. But then forgot to add cheese. It has a ton of black pepper. My child said it was more like Mac and Cream. It was bad, bad. My husband can't eat baked beans as he is allergic so I tried them. Man, they tasted like they came straight out of the can. Ridiculous. The can of orange soda was delicious.... I won't order from them again. Sorry.

Small place, but the second generation offers the same great food and friendly service that the previous generation did. Still the best BBQ in the area.

I'm so mad I live all the way in Rogers and have to drive to get this catfish! ? We were visiting George Floyd Square and stopped in for a quick bite to eat, we had no idea the food was going to be this good. The catfish was fried fresh, crispy, not greasy, and soooo good. The candied yams were on point! And the mac 'n cheese had just the right about of kick. Definitely on my list of the Twin Cities best!

It took a while to get our food. The smoked wings were burned. 12 small wings $18.87. The menu has a lot to offer.

Grew up Southside eating Ted Cooks Scott Ja Mamas Cgs all that, came here first time got ribs and Mac he forgot to add the Mac to the order and threw it in for free. Ribs are juicy and perfectly smoked, homemade Mac hits and the owners son who runs it Dwight was a cool dude. I’ll be back.

Delicious food and great service. Walking distance from our Airbnb, we looked up local restaurants and bbq sounded good. Smoke in the Pit did not disappoint. I ordered the smoked chicken wings dinner with Mac n cheese and baked beans. Yum! My husband got the ribs with fries and the candied yams (prepared perfectly sweet with spicy cinnamon goodness). Ribs were tender, yet firm and seasoned to perfection...great without the bbq sauce, but sauce just enhanced the eating pleasure. We had a wonderful experience at Smoke in the Pit. The gentleman that prepared our food was also so courteous and friendly. Awesome way to start our long weekend in Minneapolis. Highly recommend if you are local or visitors like us. Scrumptious BBQ!!!! Check it out!

Pay attention to your digital presence. Don't say you are open Sundays when you are not! It's a waste of people's time. Do better.

Some of the best bbq I've had. If you like a smoke flavor, this is a spot for you. Meat was fall of bone, ribs were 10/10. The meat speaks for itself, and the sides complimented. Sauce on the side was a nice touch because I didn't even want it the meat was so good! Will return. Worth the visit.
