This is by far the best local coffee shop I've had the pleasure of frequenting. The service is hands down, incredible. The baristas are friendly, and have wonderful banter. H, the owner, is my favorite person in our neighborhood. The drinks are delectable and delicious. Also, the playroom has huge dinosaurs. I have never had a less than perfect visit to Sovereign Grounds. Would highly recommend!

Dietary restrictions: Alternative milk options available. Morning Glory muffin made without dairy.

Kid-friendliness: Entire playroom with plethora of toys and activities to entertain the kids. Dinosaurs. =)

I will never forget asking for a piece of quiche to go and she sent me with a cold piece of quiche. Can not understand why I'd pay for such service.

Great coffee shop to sit for awhile while your toddler and baby can play. The food was excellent and the coffee was great for the price.

Parking: Lots of residential street parking a block away

Kid-friendliness: Great play area with a climbing structure, train table, play kitchen and little riding toys

One thing Minneapolis has a lot of is great local coffee shops, but Sovereign Grounds stands out above the rest. Hakan has created a true community gathering spot, a place where everyone loves coming back to! He remembers my order in the mornings too. On top of all that it is in my opinion the best tasting coffee I've had. It's nice to say that I've found "my" coffee shop!

I have been here a few times and will continue to visit in the future! I love that they have a kids play area to allow kids to play. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Medium noise which is nice for a place to bring kids. Overall wonderful atmosphere.

Chai Latte was really good. Nice thick froth and good and spicy. Cinnamon garnish really brought it home. 9/10

It's okay. The coffee and food is mid level at best and the service is lackluster. The cashier seemed to not know English at all. The atmosphere is pretty good and it's nice to have a kids play area.

Great coffee and baked goods, like homemade. Friendliest service in town. Play area for kids, prob best for 2-5-year-olds.

Love Love Love this coffee shop. Great neighborhood gathering place. Delicious homemade bakery, great service, and, of course, great coffee.

Kid-friendliness: Great place to go with your kids. They have a big space dedicated to families with lots of toys for the kids to play.

Really enjoyed both drip coffees I’ve had here. Food selection is pretty extensive. I had the Turkish pastry warmed up and it was solid. Kid room would likely keep me from hanging here on weekends but I think it’s great for the community to have.

Cute little coffee shop with a warm, homey atmosphere. It has a play area for the children, too.

Although I don't go here anymore, I have to give credit to Hakkan for being a good roaster.
