Great place to stay. Walking distance to a lot of places

This place was absolutely spectacular! Amazing coffee, amazing location and plenty of space to sit down with a client and have a drink. The cozy warm fireplace and the fresh green really makes this place feel at home. It's a beautifully designed building with marble pillars that will take your breathe away. I would say this is one of the coolest looking coffee shops I have ever been in and will continue to come back when I am in Minneapolis. 10/10 recommend

Seating and atmosphere where you can eat/drink your coffee is really nice. Comfy chairs and sofas. Clean space with plants and fireplace. Coffee and food quite expensive, and not that good.

I'm not an avid coffee drinker so I ordered a cappuccino since most of the cappuccinos I have ever had were on the sweeter side, this one here was basically like drinking a coffee black. I threw it away. Super pretty but super bitter.

Too pricey. Coffee was really nice, but the breakfast sandwich was mediocre with burned bacon and too expensive for the quality. Really nice

If service and atmosphere were not apart of the overall review, this would be a 1.5.I really only care how good the coffee is....and the cortado tasted burnt, lacking any meaningful mouth feel, and the milk was effectively deflated.Great place to sit and enjoy any other drink though.

It is a beautiful space but only a few of the desks are a functional shape or size for getting work done. When I went they did not have any food to offer besides the last two pastries (which happens) but I wasn't as impressed by these as I have been by other bakeries / cafes around the city. Probably my biggest issue with the place was that the audio system was playing two different songs at the same time which neither the baristas nor the hotel staff had any interest in fixing. I would only go again if I was already downtown, and only to grab a drink and go.

Great coffee and tea,but the food not so much. The food was bland, the bread was frozen and not fresh with a stodgy feel. For the price I expect better quality.Xome here for the drinks and atmosphere, don't order the food.

Delicious coffee and great service in a fantastic space.
Great coffee spot! I had a delicious turmeric coffee. The menu boasts brie and fig sandwiches, croissants, and several danishes, among other things. Great atmosphere in a large, old building. Could work or study here no problem.

First visit since 2020 and the quality has been absolutely lost. I ordered a breakfast quesadilla, and it was frozen cold, I was told by the barista that they breakfast menu is frozen prepared food that can have no changes or modifications. Gross, and the coffee tasted gritty. Also, the staff were rude and dismissive. Do yourself a favorite and go to other Spyhouse locations (St. Paul location or the South Minneapolis one) for better service and food. Or, if you’re downtown choose anywhere else and you won’t go wrong.

As part of the Emery Hotel space, this location is the polar opposite of the grungy original Whittier location which opened in 2000. Great atmosphere with plenty of wood, faux marble, plants, and a bookshelf with old timey world globes and books. A bit standoffy service, particularly if you ask about prices, although not as bad as the Whittier location at 25th and Nicollet where patronization is considered a feature. The $3.50 posted price for coffee (about $4.00 with double digit downtown Minneapolis tax) is for a tiny cup which appears smaller then an 8 ounce Starbucks short, although when I asked about it they claimed it was 10. They should have the posted price for a reasonable size. They are only open till 5:00, but you can get away with hanging out longer as the area appears part of the hotel, basically a 24 hour guest lounge. They do have issues with indigents coming in and harassing civilians or sleeping like all downtown service businesses as this is so tolerated now with today's politics. It's not nearly as bad though as it was at the Marquette and 5th Street Starbucks a block away which had to close precovid because of random assaults to customers and staff by thugs off the streets (myself included). This shop is open, though with limited hours, on holidays which is handy. Incredibly there is no value rating here, that would have been about 2 stars.
