I was disappointed to discover on the day before our reservation that Stella's was permanently closed. I only found this information out when I tried to see if other days and times were available. After multiple times of getting nothing available or an error I decided to go to the Stella's website. Sadly, even though Open Table sent me reminder emails you never told me they closed not to mention the email I received days later asking how my experience was. Lesson learned...I will not solely rely on Open Table in the future. P.S. Stella's was fantastic in the past and we were really looking forward to going again. We are not from the area so this was really disappointing since it was New Year's week and finding a place that wasn't total booked was difficult. I only gave it low marks on this review due to my experience with your product/service. Thanks.
Thank You, Stella's, for being a successful pillar in Uptown. Your staff members were always friendly and your menu unbelievably fresh and delicious. Best jambalaya in town! You will be missed by many!
This was the last time I will get to dine at Stella's as they are closing their doors! Toni was our server and was amazing! Loved ALL of the dishes we ordered. Will miss this place for sure!
The restaurant itself is not impressive, but wait until you see the menu and taste the food! The menu is loaded with tasty meals including fresh seafood options. Our server was knowledgeable about all the dishes and answered our questions. I ordered the Parmesan coated halibut with a side of clam chowder. The chowder could be reduced in salt, but was tasty. The halibut melted in my mouth! My husband order the fresh scallops pan seared. They were done to perfection. From the great service to the meal we could not have been more pleased.
Street parking was easy at 6pm on a Friday. Booths are comfy out of the noise. Restroom up a flight of stairs. Mussels were in a yummy sauce but the bread provided for dipping was meh. Fish was well-prepared and sashimi was very good. Wait staff very helpful and friendly ?
Friends went. The atmosphere was good. Understaffed at lunch. We had 1 person in the whole first floor to wait tables and tend bar. He did an exceptional job but I felt he was over worked with a brisk lunch crowd. All of us enjoyed our well prepared meals. 2 had dinner menu beer battered walleye and 2 had some sort of grilled chicken sandwich. The sandwich was very good as was the walleye, but the breading on the walleye was a little too thick. Overall good dining experience and our waiter should be commended on his good service despite less than ideal working conditions.
My wife found this place while searching for a nearby restaurant to enjoy some delicious sea food. Happy to say the service was great and the food was to die for. We started with a Caesar salad and lobster bisque. The salad was refreshing and crisp, while the lobster bisque was hot and full of lobster and a delicious flavor. We also ordered an eggplant crab dip that was full of crabmeat and flavor. As an Entree we ordered the Stella’s Salmon Oscar. The salmon was juicy and full of flavor. Overall we had an amazing experience while dining at Stella’s
Everything was great exept they never romoved plates that were empty. We had multople things and the plates that were done just sat there through out the dinner. I know they are short staffed but even when they served something new, they did not take the used plates with them. The food was great-wonderful outside dining.
The service was poor. She had a poor attitude. We had to ask to clean the water spilled and continuously asking silverware, plate, napkins and drinks. This was unacceptable however the food was outstanding.
Ordered two meals, blackened swordfish and sushi. Swordfish came out first, very bland with flavor. Sushi came out 20 mins later. I was already done eating before my wife got her meal. She said it was good, but that's ridiculous planning on your guys part!

We were early on a Monday evening so there was plenty of open tables on the rooftop deck. Staff were energetic and friendly. Our server was attentive and helpful. The recommendations she made were perfect. Everything came out well and promptly :) I'd definitely come back here when visiting.
I had hair in my food and my partner was not served a veggie after being asked “do you want cauliflower or asparagus?” The food seemed quite dry as well. I also nearly choked on the lemon seeds that were in my cocktail.
I hate to give a bad review but this place was such a huge disappointment. I booked this place 2 months in advance for my wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, It's overrated and overpriced, the food was subpar. We got oysters 6 oysters for $24 and a couple of the oysters were smaller than the cocktail fork it was served with. The Lobster roll had mostly bread, barely any lobster filling. Sadly the fries were the best thing on that plate and my husband got the Seafood Platter which was decent, but very overpriced for the portion.I was so looking forward to this place based on the reviews and pictures. I'm honestly still upset that I paid so much money for "ok" food when we could have had our anniversary at Red Lobster and gotten better food at a more reasonable price.
I had the Parmesan crusted halibut and it was terrible it was not seasoned at all and had a very “wet” feel to it. The sides were also bland and had an off putting textures. The other people in my party had pan seared halibut and they said theirs was tasty. Our server was very nice but everything came out so slow. Including drinks. We were there for an hour before we got our food. Unfortunately I was not impressed and won't be returning
Felt so good after Stella's! My walleye (platter) was tender and perfect, dill tartar sauce so complimentary. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes were so tasty! Ordinary cole slaw. My friend had his first lobster (stuffed) with the extracting fork. Small lobster, but tasty! They forgot the melted butter--our server David was very attentive without being intrusive, and quick to correct missing melted butter. Brought aioli sauce at no extra charge! Rooftop so pleasant --perfect weather! No rush on a 6:30PM Thurs reservation for the next people! The dessert! Oh, the dessert was to die for! Cheesecake with strawberries, big creamy piece; Creme Brulee for me! AND they honored my request for a few raspberries!
