One of these days I’m gonna get here early enough to get some of their sourdough bread, but it’s been sold out the last couple times I’ve stopped in. I’ve taken friends here for brunch two different times and both were excellent. Friendly service, excellent food, pleasant ambience. It’s wonderful! Got the poutine, which is different than traditional but still lovely, and the phoenix chicken sandwich. Their fries are also amazing. 10/10 recommend

Always a must to stop by Sun Street when I’m in town. Al, you made the best latte I have ever had in my entire life. Perfect texture, flavor, and presentation. Thank you to the lovely staff for the wonderful recommendations and fantastic fantastic food and drinks.

A friendly local bakery that offers a few different breakfast and lunch options. I have had their bread before but had never eaten here. It was a very pleasant surprise. I had the biscuits crepe and it was very good.
Pricing is very fair and even though portions are a little small the quality is quite good.
I came in on a late Sunday morning and most of the bread was gone but there was plenty of room to sit and very little wait.

Stopped by for pizza night (Thursdays!) and everything was incredible! They even let us stick around a little after closing to finish our meals. Can’t wait to come back and try their coffee and pastries!

Easy 5 stars! No doubt about it. After hearing great things about Sun Street for years, I finally stopped by today after yoga. I’m so glad I did. I got 4 pastries for my husband and I to split, and we devoured them. We tried the downtowner, raspberry cream scone, cardamom role, and strawberry pastry (don’t remember the exact name). Each pastry was fresh, flavorful, flakey, and incredibly satisfying. I’d describe the style as rustic French. Nothing was tough or dry. I’ve had a lot of dry cardamom and cinnamon roles, so these were so refreshing and a welcome departure from past disappointments. I especially loved the texture of the scone. Can’t wait to come back and try their biscuits and gravy for lunch. I really appreciate that they have multiple vegetarian options. This spot is not to be missed.
Edit: came back for biscuits and gravy and they were delightful!

The rumors are true, Sunstreet is the best bakery around. Let me tell you some of my favorite things about it:
- pizza night on thursdays
- AL works at the counter and offers impeccable customer service. I ALWAYS leave with a big smile on my face, not only because I’m bringing home the most crispy delicious pizza in the twin cities, but also because Al is such a ray of light! Sunstreet wouldn’t be the same without Al periodddd
- raspberry cream scone…ok it’s just really good okay
- Lemonade HELLO I think about it every single day
- BLT … perfection on a biscuit…one could also say: Bacon lettuce tomato and maple mayo nestled between sliced perfection (the biscuits are excellent, like little pillows for angels made by angels)
- ANIMAL CRACKERS just….please…. They’re my friends and they’re so good
- bread!!!!! Hello! They have a TOAST FLIGHT get outta here. It’s so cute and tasty.
👏This place👏 doesn’t 👏mess 👏around👏

Really sad this place is closing. The food is phenomenal. You can tell there is so much care and intention going into what’s being offered. Anytime I’m in the Cities, I try to stop in. It’s that good.

I've been looking for good bread in america for 20 years. I JUST FOUND IT, the Bergen and oatmeal are like my childhood in Norway. Then I learn it's closing. I hope they continue to make this in Grand Marais.
Yummy. Busy with a little wait, but worth it.
The most consistent and delicious restaurant and bakery we’ve ever been to. So sad!!! 😞
