Big tap room with high ceilings. Beer was good with lots of selections. Food is overpriced though. Not a lot of selections and the entrees don’t come with chips or fries. I will say that the brisket queso dip is phenomenal and would definitely recommend that. They offer tours but didn’t have enough time to do one.

I really like Surly's beer but never had the opportunity to visit the Beer Hall. I was warmly received, but not told about restaurant week specials. I enjoyed trying a Mosh Pit Hazy IPA - yummy. I ordered some mahi tacos. They were OK but expensive for what I got. There were no 'sides' I could order! I ordered chicken tacos. It was a small serving of pulled chicken. Again, way too expensive for what I got. Would have liked a side salad or fries. I sat at the bar. Service was friendly and fast. It was a good first visit. Will not be rushing back anytime soon. Too bad.

Visited after some time and had to revise rating. Used to be a great place to have beer and food. The service has gone down the drain. You can't order food unless you're sitting at the bar, even if you offer to take the food with you. Has complicated rules about where you may sit to drink and or eat even on a slow day with empty seats... In a beer hall. Host was an annoying and unfriendly college kid.
The folks at entrance telling people to go to winery because they dared ask if they may have some wine.
Desperately needs better servers and patron friendly service.

Super disappointed in staff/manager. Our party of 25 dropped at least $600 in apps and drinks, and they wouldn't let us bring a few birthday cupcakes anywhere on the property (including outside on the patio).

Regarding the beer: I wish they had a better variety. Most beers are hoppy. I wish they had a few cream ales.

I was excited for this brewery tour as Surly beer is one of my personal favorites. The tour started late and ran far longer than the planned hour. It did come with a free tasting at the end. I was a bit disappointed that they didn’t offer any of their flagship beers to taste.

this. Is $8. The cream is NOT worth it.

The pizza and salad were great but we didn't get what we ordered. We ordered a Walter White pizza and got What's the Damage. We ordered a Greek salad and got a Caesar salad. The dark lager was great. 5 stars if the order had been correct.

Pretty good food. Beer is great. It was disappointing that they won't let you do custom flights; they have 3 set flight options that were relatively uninteresting compared to their other offerings. Too bad, I really would have liked to try more of the beers.

Going to Surly’s flagship brewery is like walking into a Time Machine. Do you miss craft beer from 2012? Do you miss beanies and flannels and ill fitting jeans? Do you miss pop punk circa 2006? Then this is the place for you!
Is the beer great for modern day Minnesota breweries? No
Is the food anything noteworthy? No
Is it still the safest place in Mpls to bring a large group of people where the people are more important than the food and drink? Yes, absolutely

Retirement gathering. Had beer and appetizers.

Ordered the pork adobo. Really small portion, and not very flavorful. A bit disappointed axe man is only available in a 10oz for like $8 or $9 dollars. They used to serve full pints! Seems like they’ve cheapened out a bit, and regressed on food quality. Still a lovely space with tasty beers

Edit: apparently I misremembered them serving full pints of Axe Man.

Macro brewery! The beers tasted like it as well, which mean cheap beers in big batches. It comes with good pricing, but nothing impressive on the tasty side of things

Good food and drinks. Very loud during the summer. It is near Malcolm Yards, who also has good food. It's not a bad location except for that building across the street 485. Locked your cars, bring your pew.

We had a party of four go to a special event upstairs in Dortitz. We had a time from 530pm to 7 pm. We got sat down and did not see a waitstaff for over 30 minutes eating into our dedicated time. We ended up getting up and ordering our own pizza and drinks at the bar. By the time we got our food and had drinks, we finally met our server, who reminded us that we must be out by 7 pm. I am not blaming him as he was busy as hell, but as a business, you were way understaffed. As 7pm approached, he reminded us again that we had to leave. We wanted to have more time to eat and drink, but this business model is to get you to spend money and then get out. Had there been several parties waiting at the booth, I would have totally understood, but there was nobody waiting. In frustration, we left Surley all together. Recommendations: Have enough staff on special event nights. Get rid of dedicated times, especially if they next guests who are not even there.
