A Magical Evening at Curry Diva

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at the Curry Diva pop-up, and it was nothing short of incredible. The Sri Lankan food was bursting with flavor—every dish was aromatic, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. From the first bite to the last, it was a true feast for the senses.

What made the experience even more special was the chef herself. She visited each table, sharing stories and insights with such warmth and energy—it felt like we were dining in her own home. Her passion for food and culture was infectious, adding a personal touch to an already fantastic meal.

On top of that, the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. We had the chance to meet some wonderful people at the next table, which made the evening even more memorable. The Curry Diva pop-up isn’t just about great food; it’s about community, connection, and a shared love for bold, delicious flavors.

If you have the chance to attend, don’t hesitate—this is a dining experience you won’t forget!

The food is amazing and Heather is the ultimate host. She makes food with love (and a lot of skill and knowledge), and it is all served family-style so you can try everything. We tried all the options - Chicken, pork, vegetarian - and got a kale salad - and it happily stuffed 4 of us and we brought home a lot of wonderful leftovers. Heather is right, they are great for breakfast too!
For anyone interested in Ayurvedic food or how food can be medicinal (eating good food is healing), it's perfect. Or if you just want a cozy meal with friends or family, the Curry Diva has got you covered.
At the previous location, reservations seemed like a necessity, but at Butter (37th and Nicollet), it didn't seem as crucial as it's a larger space, so go and check it out!!

Dietary restrictions: This is perfect for gluten-free folks and vegetarians as well as meat-eaters and everyone in between. As long as you like flavor, you are good!

Our meal was delightful on every level. The staff were welcoming and helpful, the food and beverages utterly delicious (and abundant!), and Heather was as fun and entertaining as always. So glad we chose Curry Diva for our family celebration.

It's a pop up in a bakery. The night we went was very hot and the Air Conditioning seemed to be turned off partway and we both became quite ill. The vegetarian meal was better than the meats, which felt stringy and overcooked. The kitchen was stressed as they had lost their dishwasher and we spent a very long time waiting for our food, which was lacklustre at best. The Chai was overly rose-scented and was served cold but not intentionally. They try hard to please and people where very kind and we liked them very much but the overall experience was pretty awful and stressful...there was a rather loud and large table of "Cool kids" nearby who clearly wanted everyone in the small hot cafe to hear the details of their lives. It was so boring and pretty sad. They seemed to be regulars. There should have been music in the background, at least. The AC was not strong to begin with and as the service wound down it was so hot, we both felt as though we had heart stroke. I would suggest the take-out option except the food was not that good...it was just okay. Certainly not worth driving anywhere for.
