Amazing coffee roaster tucked away in the basement! Loved seeing the beans being roasted and getting to talk with the owner about the different options. There were around 10 different coffee beans sourced from around the world he was offering.
Best beans in town!! 🙌 Thanks Jeremy!!!
amazing coffee roaster tucked away in a coffee bean lair. Jeremy has always been so inviting and knowledgeable, and having amazing beans is the cherry on top! i end my work week picking up a pound of beans every other tuesday, and i am never disappointed in the quality and experience; i look forward to going every time.
Went there for the first time last night to pick up some coffee and this place seemed special. Talking to the owner he seemed to have such a passion and knowledge for the coffee. This place is on my way home from work and will definitely be buying my coffee here from now on.
This was my first time getting coffee from the Roastery. It will not be my last. The coffee is truly excellent. It has unique flavors for each roast. Flavors I have not encountered before, which is what I always search for, but seldom find. I have searched coffee roasters all over the country when I travel, which is frequently. A coffee roaster’s coffee is always – ALWAYS - superior to coffee shops that do not roast their own. There are a few small roasters like the Roastery, very few, which solely roast coffee. Like the Roastery their shops are very modest. Unlike big coffee chains, the atmosphere is not the point. The coffee is the point. The Roastery’s coffee is obviously made with great care by someone who loves coffee. Try some, you won’t be disappointed.
I ordered a couple bags of coffee last night with free shipping and came home from work the next afternoon to find them carefully tucked between my screen door and main door. Blazing fast and smells fresh. Excellent service, and I can't wait to try my cold brew tomorrow. You just gained a regular!

The owner had a passion for roasting coffee. I'm new to espresso and he was happy to share his knowledge.

This place is great. And this is everything you need to know about your first visit. First off, there is an associated parking lot at the junction of 54th and Garfield, next to the Mac's Fish and Chips. Even if it's full, there's enough streets where you can park for a short time without needing to drop a toll.
The vibe of this place is unique from the get go. Rather than a ground level storefront, The Roastery is situated in an underground basement-like nook. The biggest mark that exists from the outside is the sign. (That does, unfortunately, make this place inaccessible for disabled, but you can order the beans online!) It's a completely unique experience in America, usually underground stores are mainly seen in dense places like Europe, which, considering that it's coffee, is fitting.
When you go downstairs and find the store, you realize it's more of a workshop than a store. You'll probably find Jeremy, the owner, making coffee, two tables set up with coffee roasted that morning and some coffee paraphernalia. This store is ALL about coffee roasting. It's not about a pretty storefront, not about getting the most traffic, its about one guy that loves what he does and shares it with the rest of the world. The store is rustic, lived-in, and speaks to the heart of independently owned small businesses.
You can talk to Jeremy, he'll recommend some beans, and you can buy them from him. This is a man that loves his coffee, talk to him! I got two half-bags. The coffee here is small batches and the stock rotates, which means you won't ever be buying stale green coffee. It also means you get to experience more of the coffee world and flavors you might never expect!
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a staircase to get to the store, it won't be wheelchair accessible. Instead, order online!

This place is a hidden gem. I have tried multiple roasts and have not yet been disappointed. I've made single-cup pour-over, drip coffee with a Moccamaster, and espresso with their roasts and all are incredible. I highly encourage people in the area to get their coffee here!
I went there for the first time this morning and had a pleasant experience. I met Jeremy, who was very welcoming. He helped me identify a product that may be a good fit for my tastes. Everything available was roasted that same day, and the prices are great for Fair Trade Organic. I brought it up, brewed up a cup, and was very happy with it. I will definitely come back here once I run out to try something different.
Been going to him for months, amazing place and even better coffee!
Good coffee
We stumbled upon The Roastery and now I’m spoiled! I don’t consider myself a coffee connaisseur but I could legitimately taste a difference in these beans from all the other beans we’ve bought…and it’s by far my favorite coffee I’ve brewed from whole beans at home. Loved it! Plus, it was so fun on a Saturday morning to chat with the owner who was there roasting the beans and telling us stories and answering our questions. We’ll definitely be back for more beans. ?
