Had lunch during the weekday so very quiet with terrifically friendly staff. Food is delicious, but to be honest a bit on the pricier side for the neighborhood. Still a stunning location and well worth the few dozen steps to the east to taking the Mississippi River and lush bluffs. A charming, unique, cozy abode that I imagined would be a good respite from winter chill with the soup and half sandwich The gentleman next to me spoke so highly of
Good: The food was really good. Covered patio.
Bad: the worst service. The blonde with shoulder length curly hair could use a basic crash course in service. They never came back to check on the food. They checked to see if we needed more drinks, only well beyond when we had finished eating. So no. We had to flag them down to ask for our bill. This place was not busy.
The chairs on the patio are awful. You sink into the chairs, which makes the table height odd.

This neighborhood restaurant is a great place for cocktails and very fine food. The waitstaff were helpful, friendly and attentive. Each appetizer we tried was kicked up a notch with unique flavors. Throughly enjoyed this charming stop!

Sample room was an excellent spot when I first visited it 20 years ago, and their quality has only maintained or improved. This quaint and cute little spot right on the river is almost hidden, but it is an oasis of delicious food and one of the few charcuterie places that you can find in Minnesota.
Still, all that history doesn't mean they aren't rebels. Their flagship image of Frank Sinatra being arrested is a perfect icon for how they approach their food: it's delicious but also rule- breaking, fun, intimate and friendly.
10/5 stars, one of my favorite spots in town.

Great host. Nice food selection (albeit a little light on vegetarian options) and fabulous outdoor seating area.
Reminded me of the gold standard for outdoor patio seating - Black Forest, down in S. Mpls. I love the area, and often fabricated about getting a house, on the river, in that area (until I moved to the East).

Small intimate dining in a high scale level. Thus place is legitimately the place for great food and cozy atmospheric fun.

This place is so lovely from start to finish. The team was so accommodating and kind to our group, and worked to get us in with just a day or so to spare. We ordered drinks and almost every appetizer and dessert and everyone loved it! They had a nice cadence, attentive service, and excellent food. The vibe is so cozy. Highly recommend!

This is a favorite spot for lunch or a happy hour. There's usually great 80s alternative playing too!

Kinda disappointing. Kinda pricy. Kinda meh with small portions. Hated the chairs in the patio, very uncomfortable and seat sunk.
Wouldn’t come back.
