Everything here is spectacular - can’t go wrong! Affordable, casual, cozy, great food and great staff. There’s a reason they’ve been in business for so long!
If you need something for a special occasion, try the marquise cake :)

Good food, but if you order more than one item for takeaway, they will mess up your order. Count on it.
It's good stuff, just a completely homogenous demographic. Plenty of snooty older folks that take 20 minutes to order a piece of quiche too. Great quiche though.
🦃 Day Open 7:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.... Not busy yet...
Everything's well stocked looks great as usual...Nice little breakfast, lunch spot...Good coffee...
Easy parking on the street.
Clean and quiet.
Comfortable seating.
Good food and desserts.
Recommend a $6. quiche if you're not too hungry or regular breakfast $12 to $13, I usually get the turtle benedict or the salmon scramble.
If you get the soup-go for a bowl $7.49 over a cup $6.49… only $1 more…a lot bigger.

The pies are really the best all-american pies. A bit expensive but very health dose of fillings! You can also return the pie-tin and get a 3$ cashback.
For breakfast, its better to get a classic breakfast (eggs, bacon etc) or get the buttermilk pancakes. The baled potatoes are extra crispy!

Yummy homemade bakery items, entrees and soups. I live in S St. Paul, not near the Longfellow neighborhood, but make special trips over there a couple of times a month for breakfast or lunch.

I had the breakfast burrito with veggie sausage. It was plenty of food and I loved it! The burrito, salsa, avocado spread were really lacking salt, but there’s salt on the table so that’s an easy fix.
One of the best places to just be with others. Wait staff is over the top awesome and their cherry pie could not be matched or beaten by any other I have ever had!

On a recent visit to family in Minneapolis, this quickly became a frequent stop. Amazing offerings of baked goods, breakfast and lunch offerings. Oh, and really great breads. The raspberry, bran and chocolate chip muffins were favorites. All the sandwiches, quiches and soups were fresh and delicious too. In an era of chain bakeries (Paris Baguette or le Pain Quotidian), it was refreshing to have such a wide selection of high quality, home made goods. It’s like being in your mom’s kitchen (if she was a really talented baker/cook) with favorite offerings available. Nice indoor and outdoor seating areas and bathrooms.
