Food was impressive for a dog park/facility. The staff was super nice too. Great beer and food selection. We'll be back.
Super fun place to meet new dogs and people.
Unleashed Hounds & Hops in North Minneapolis, MN - found this place to be less than acceptable. It was dirty and unkept. In addition the staff were rude and did not seem interested in dogs. One of the owners (Jamie) was there, she made sure to boast she was one of the owners, was rude and inappropriate with the dogs. I would not recommend this place to anyone. This is not the fun loving place they show on the website. Go somewhere else.
Great locale for food with the dog. We like it best for outdoor patio.
We’ve been here many times and always have a great experience! The staff are all very friendly and prompt about handling any fights that break out and cleaning up after potty accidents. It’s a great option on the bitter cold winter days or rainy ones. Heck, the patio in the summer is great too!
Absolutely Disgusting – Never Again
Let me save you the time, money, and regret: do not go to Unleashed Hounds and Hops. I don’t know who thought this was a “fun” place, but it was one of the grossest, most stressful nights I’ve had in a long time.
First of all, the smell. It hits you the second you walk in—like a mix of mildew, dog pee, stale beer, and something I can only describe as rotting carpet. It’s stomach-turning.
Then there’s the staff. Rude, dismissive, and totally uninterested in being helpful. I asked a question and got a half-hearted grunt and an eye roll like I’d interrupted their nap. I watched someone get barked at (literally yelled at) by a staff member for asking where to sit. What kind of customer service is that?
Cleanliness? Ha. There was fur everywhere—on the seats, in my food, on my drink glass. The dog play area was soaked with pee, and no one was cleaning anything. One dog had diarrhea right in the middle of the floor, and it sat there while the staff just stepped over it. I almost slipped on it. I'm not even being dramatic. It was revolting.
Also, the dogs were clearly overstimulated. Fights breaking out, constant barking, and no one monitoring anything. It felt like a free-for-all. My dog was stressed out, and honestly, so was I.
I left early, feeling gross, annoyed, and honestly a little angry that I paid for that experience. This place is trying to be hip and cute, but in reality? It’s just chaotic, filthy, and badly managed. Unless you enjoy the smell of dog urine with your overpriced beer and a side of attitude from the staff, stay far away.
The first time was amazing. Our 1 year old pitbull was happy there and the staff were super friendly towards him.
2nd time there, some of the staff clearly have a bias against pitbulls. They kept our dog from joining others in the pack when clearly it was not his fault. A puppy kept approaching our dog to play, and when they were both roughhousing each other in their play, with both tails wagging, they kicked us out. Even when a pack of adult shepherds and retrievers were playing with our pitbull, and some other dog started barking, one particular staff member immediately went to our pitbull and pulled him aside, when he was not involved in any of it at all. Also, when a retriever much larger than our pit kept trying to jump our dog, the staff literally did nothing, but the slightest dog like behavior from our dog, he was pulled aside.
Really disappointed because we absolutely enjoyed our 1st day there. I guess it depends on who is working that day.
Fun place for dogs and their people!
Great place to let your dog run around
Always a great time here for us and our girl! The outdoor portion of their dog park is top notch. Love this place!

This place is so much fun! The staff did their best to stay on top of dogs. My only complaint is that smol dog night is for 30 pounds and under, if you have an actual small dog who’s 8 pounds that’s still twice it’s weight, and dangerous, makes some little ones scared! And on the only terrier night my yorkie has to be surrounded by pitbulls or other mixes who weigh at least 40-50 pounds. I hope they will provide nights for smaller breeds. hopefully they can add exclusivity or just a barrier for small dogs so they can roam freely.
Me and my two little ones LOVE Unleashed.
We’ve been coming here since they opened, and I always feel safe with how attentive the employees are. The menu is also great, and they keep adding fun improvements to the play areas. Someday I’ll invest in an annual pass.
Just leash up your dogs and go, it’ll be a blast!
I took my golden doodle and lab mix there on golden doodle night. It was a fabulous experience for them, never being off leash before. Victoria met us when we entered picnic area. I explained that my dogs had never been off leash or around a lot of dogs before. She was very reassuring and made me feel at ease. She kept an eye on them while being attentive to all the other dogs in the area. She knew I was anxious so she kept me updated on how the two were doing. Much appreciated from a worried dog mom. Victoria went beyond what is expected. I hope shes always there on my return visits. My girls loved her too shes cares about dogs. I will become a return customer especially with winter coming. And seeing how good my girls were off leash and loving an open space to play. All of the staff was friendly plus dogs and their humans.Great idea
Playground: Playground was a large wide open area where dogs can run and play. And something to climb on. Indoor bar and food. Dogs were outside when I was there. Secure fenced entry ways to playground and picnic area.
Toilets: Clean
Dog-friendliness: No problem with other dogs. If one started to growl staff was right in there to intervene so no problem occurred. Dogs there were friendly. Victoria was fantastic great with dogs and humans shes one of the staff. She was very attentive to the dogs needs and pet parents
Picnic area: Picnic area was wonderful. Anywhere you sat pretty much one was able to watch their dogs playing. A lot of sitting places a few picnic tables. Plus an outside bar.
Great spot. They even have drinks while the farmers market is open!
