This was such a fun experience. Even my boyfriend who claims to not enjoy arts & crafts said he had a great time. We both agreed we will be back. The projects are useful (definitely things we will use) and the customization options (stencils) they offer were cute and there seemed to be something for everyone. The staff were very helpful in answering our questions. A little on the pricer side, but we didn't mind paying for the experience together.

What a disappointment. The staff is incredibly rude and disrespectful. Didn’t even get a hello when we walked in, just a snarky “do you have a reservation?” Went to the bar to order drinks which was somehow difficult? Got our drinks after about 30 minutes. Went to order another round of drinks and waited over 30 minutes. We cancelled the drink order at that point as we were near done with our crafts. This place would be so fun with a friendly and engaged staff, but they were more interested in talking to each other than they were with the customers. I’ll never be back.

Actually so precious. Be prepared to spend but so worth it. I made a necklace and my partner made string and nail art. Mine took maybe an hour and a half but the nail art took about three hours. So depending on project, be prepared to have a few drinks. They have cute cocktails I got the strong arm punch with st. Germain. Super yummy.I’d come back

some context, i’m a server at a full service sit down restaurant. me and my girlfriend went in for valentine’s day with a reservation. we get there, person says there was no reservation saved for us (?) but they brought us to our table promptly. we grab our supplies, start making our stuff, grab two canned drinks from the bar, finish our stuff, go to pay. we had a few questions here and there because we ran out of materials for our stuff.i am an overly generous tipper at any bar or restaurant (or even coffee shop) that i go to. but i left 0% because i didn’t think 1. anything they serviced us for was out of the ordinary and 2. i didn’t think the workers there depended on tips for the majority of their pay, which is a whole separate can of worms.ok, we leave, and as i’m about to exit, a worker walks up to me and my girlfriend and leads with “hey i noticed you didn’t tip, is there something we could improve on?” and i got SO embarrassed for her. if i EVER asked a customer this, i’d be written up or fired. even if i was in the wrong for not tipping, this is so incredibly unprofessional to do that i’m still mad about it the next day. if you want feedback, you should not base it on someone’s tip especially for a place that is honestly quite overpriced all things considered. maybe send out surveys/reviews to customer emails?? also this means the worker looked up our tab immediately after paying which just puts a bad taste in my mouth, they’re that concerned with the tip from ONE customer meanwhile they were fully busy with plenty of people.all that being said, i wouldn’t recommend going. it’s loud as hell, you can make all this stuff at home, and the workers clearly have weird priorities. maybe the business should be paying them more so that they don’t feel the need to follow customers around asking them why they didn’t tip.

Was so excited to try this and upon arriving, my husband realized he left his drivers licence at home. Said they could not serve us drinks. We are both 55+ and I’m totally silver. You can’t honestly say you think we look under 30! We left and went to Red Rabbit across the way and got served without needing to show our licenses. So, no thank you. Respect your elders. I’m a doctor for goodness sake. Not going back. Didn’t bother spending a dime there.

Shout out to Mariah and Emilia who helped me make my necklace! They were both so fun, friendly, and helpful. The crafts and drinks are great too, but it was Mariah and Emilia who really made the visit fantastic! This tassel necklace was pretty quick and easy, I'd recommend it for people looking for a very chill craft (and you get to put it on when you're done and show it off!)

I’ve always enjoyed going here and bring my friends fairly often. I went last week and the manager Mariah was so unbelievably rude and unprofessional that I will never be back. She completely ignored us to make chit chat with her coworkers and then just stood around not doing anything. I’m pretty sure I saw bugs at the corner of the bar. I cannot say enough bad things about this place.

I used to come here a lot, they must have new management or something because it’s gone waaaaay down hill.

This was such a fun, memorable experience. My husband and I went here for a date and we both enjoyed it! I chose to do string art and he chose to make a flask. I didn't finish my project on time. However, the staff sent me home plenty of string to finish later. There are tons of different projects for everybody, and the staff members are always around willing to help if needed. Definitely recommend!

When my cousin suggested we meet up for a double date here, I was super excited. I have been wanting to do something creative and fun for a while, and just hadn't thought of the right thing. We decided on a whim we were going to go, secured reservations for the next day online, and headed there on a Friday night. We parked in a surface lot across the street that is available after 6PM for a little over $10. It is pretty spendy, but it beat trying to find street parking in MPLS on a Friday night. Upon walking in, my first thought was that there is no upstairs (at least that I saw). It is more of a..."floor level" circus, which is fine, but kinda funny from the name. There is a large backdrop in the front for taking pictures with your crafty creations. We checked in, and were briefed on the process and shown to our table. While deciding what to make, we ordered drinks. They have fun variations on classic cocktails. My group then began to look at the project menus and headed over to grab our materials. You have a lot of options and there are opportunities for customizing your artwork. You are given laminated instructions and all of the materials you need to create your project (or shown where to grab paint and string if your project requires it). It was fairly straightforward, even if there were a few hiccups in the process of creating our projects. After about 3+ hours (yep...you heard that right), our masterpieces were finished. Overall the experience was good, but I have a few notes:-The place can get loud and it requires focus to work on a project. I would not suggest coming here on a first date or to catch up with an out-of-stat friend. -There is a LOT of stuff on the tables (toolboxes, water, hair dryers) so you have to be smart with your space. We didn't eat beforehand and decided to carry food in, so that made it a little more difficult to get started. -Every project is $42. For some of these projects, it might be a good deal. For others, you could order the materials on Amazon or pop into a craft store and get the materials for cheaper. However, I DO acknowledge that at Upstairs Circus, things are pre-measured and cut for you, so that is cool.-It is HARD to gauge how long projects will take. There are estimates on the project menus, but be aware that it could take a lot longer.

I had so much fun celebrating my 23rd there with server Mariah ! They were soo helpful and kind at showing the crafts, giving insight on how difficult they are, cheering us on during our progress. Additionally the mimosas were lovely!

This was a fun night out. The hosts were great. Wish there was more space to spread out. It was a bit pricey in my opinion but fun.

I went to Upstairs Circus as part of a work outing and it was so much fun! I loved that there was a variety of projects that you could choose from based upon how much time you wanted to spend, your own skill level, your style preference, etc. The full bar doesn't hurt either to boost your artistic confidence? Mariah and Margaret were so helpful with any questions we had and made the experience really smooth and enjoyable. I texted my husband and told him we need to return for a date night some time. Highly recommend!!Parking: There is a public paid parking lot at the other end of the block and also across the street. Also metered street parking as well.
