My partner and I had breakfast here, and we were surprised when the bill came to $60. The service was very friendly, and I appreciate the diner vibes. However, the price was just too high for what we got. There was a lot of food. I mean, the portions are huge. However, it just wasn't very good. I ordered the Farmers Breakfast and an iced tea. My partner had the meal with two eggs, toast, and sausage. We split a cinnamon roll. $60. That's a crazy price for greasy and not very flavorful diner food.

Great hanging with the boys on and Kelly was terrific!!! First time at the new location but definitely not the last!!
Decent coffee, average cinnamon rolls, and great service. You can do better, but boy howdy, you could do worse.

May need to update Google hours. Google said they are open until 11pm but they canceled an order I placed at 9:50pm. When I called they said they were closed... maybe they meant the kitchen. But not sure.

Food is okay, ordered once before. Placed an online order around just before 11pm last night, under the impression they close at midnight as their listing indicates online and on the front door. Went to pick it up and they were closed. When I call in this morning to request a refund, they deny any wrongdoing and tell me they will not refund. Not a great business practice in my opinion.

Family in town for a visit, I ordered them some breakfast, where’s the condiments, no eating utensils, no pepper, jelly, butter, salt, napkins, there was water on the receipt but where is it. $70+ for 2 omelettes and 3 sausage links ordering online, never again.

Three of us had breakfast here. I got stomach ache and diarrhea within 30 min of eating this food due to how greasy it is. The intestinal disruption lasted 4 hours. This place is a mediocre GREASY food diner - but it does not have classic 1950's diner atmosphere and the breakfast food was unexceptional and overcooked (mush veggies) and tasted of burned oil from a dirty cooking grill. We do NOT recommend their "caramel" roll which is a boring cinnamon roll that has brown sugar poured on then drenched with a cheap caramel sauce (like you would buy at grocery store to use as ice cream topper). We also DO NOT recommend their egg white veggie scramble or their tex mex thing.
Only positive we observed dining here was server "JO" who has been there like 23 years is fantastic server and thanks to her the service was 5 stars.
I would compare this Uptown Diner place to another place we ate at on the same weekend: French Meadow at 2610 Lyndale Ave. French Meadow is much more expensive but the food (and restaurant atmosphere) is FIVE STARS so it is completely worth it. Please note I'm not associated with French Meadow in any way nor was I compensated for that comment, just trying to be helpful

Uptown Diner is a classic diner experience in Minneapolis. Food is hearty with huge portions while also being affordable and sustainable. The pancakes are absolutely amazing and delicious, and the coffee is also wonderful. The cinnamon rolls are also a must have
