Uptown Tavern & Rooftop

Walked in, didn’t see any staff. Sat down at a table. Nobody came. Left after 10 min, never saw anyone working there.

Great view and food options. It was a little slow for a Friday evening. Uptown in general is like that because of crime.

Nice place to hang out in uptown.

Great place to grab a beer after work and sit on the patio!

Cheap on Thursdays!

Great place but somewhat bad service. Could be the because of how late the servers have to work.

I should have read the reviews before suggesting to friends that we meet here to get some food and drinks before seeing a movie at the Lagoon. We walked in, sat at a booth for about ten minutes, trying to figure out how to order. We went up to the bar, I asked the bartender if we order at the bar, they said yes. I told them my drink order and they just walked away before I could order food or my friends could order. We waited a few more minutes and then walked out. Found another place down the street where we had excellent service.

Asian need not apply yet. Even as a solo top

Multiple staff members were very unhelpful and rude. Food was mediocre. I do not recommend this establishment.

Bouncers wouldn’t let my friend in because he was wearing a white t shirt. Thought they were joking at first but apparently not. Sorry uptown tavern, but you’re not classy enough to have a strict dress code. You’re just not.

What a great place, but the service is very lacking. I went to the rooftop and walked to the bar and asked if the seating was open and they said sit anywhere. I sat on an outdoor patio sofa and it was 12 minutes before someone came up and said oh by the way there is no wait service if you sit on a sofa. I said ok thank you. Where should I sit to order some food? She pointed and started to walk away. I asked for a menu and she curty said we have QR codes and walked away. Another 10 minutes and nobody has come to ask if I would like food or a drink. Four people behind the bar. And when management sees this and tries to play it off.STOP.I saw the signs that say Rail is Bar Service Only. The Rail goes all the way along the street with high top chairs. The sofas do not say no service. And honestly if I let a service professional know that I came to order food and she walks away I don’t accept that it takes another 10 minutes for someone to come say hello. The rooftop has only 7 tables sat so it is far from busy. Again, great atmosphere. Nice music but your management needs to do a much better job. You can easily double your sales if your wait staff will provide fair customer service. If you provide great customer service it will quadruple. Hopefully this was an off night. If I ever come to MSP again I will give you a second chance. I hope you can handle tough love. This place could become a favorite if the service is faster and friendly. Happy to revisit this review and give you 5 stars if my next visit goes better.
