The cake had no discernible flavor. Given that cupcakes and doughnuts can be successfully made vegan and remain delicious, it is disappointing that my birthday cake did not measure up in terms of flavor!

This is the best place to get vegan baked goods in the Twin Cities. We love their cupcakes, cakes, lemon loafs, cookies, and cheddar biscuits. I miss their uptown location where we could have broccoli cheese soup and pastrami sandwiches, but this is still great. Today I got a strawberry cupcake with a creme frosting and a strawberry filling and it was one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. I hope they make more of these kind of cupcakes in the future.
The only problem we've had with this place is the hours. Recently, I wanted to order a vegan cake for a Tuesday event at my work, but they don't open until noon that day, so I had to get frozen cupcakes instead. Many times we've wanted a cake or cupcakes for a holiday or event and the hours haven't worked for us to pick it up so we end up going to Whole Foods or getting the item many days in advance and having to freeze them, which is never as good as fresh. I get they need a day off, but I still wish there was a way to pick up orders at more convenient days or hours.

Do not skip the brownies. We got brownies and cupcakes for a birthday, and I’m NOT… a brownie person (but we all are vegan) but my partner loves brownies— so I knew this would be a great choice for his birthday. We got cupcakes just to try them. My god. I don’t have enough photos, but the brownies were the best I’ve ever had (and I could go on never eating one again) but Vegan East’s brownies are OUTTA THIS WORLD! 🌏 and the cupcakes to boot - WOWWWWWW. Thank god Minneapolis has Vegan East.

I'm not vegan and I don't have any dietary restrictions. I bought my birthday cake here to accommodate dairy intolerant family. It was one of the best cakes I've ever had. Definitely better than most non-vegan cakes. I returned to buy cupcakes for a family gathering and the family members who normally say they aren't into sweets scarfed them down and proceeded to rave about them.
