Waterbury is a walkable place when I lived at West Lake Quarter off of Excelsior. A family member encouraged me to try it out and immediately it began to be one of my favorite places. I own my own business and work out of my home. I was looking for a walkable place to meet clients, as well as meet up with family and friends, for coffee, breakfast, lunch, happy hour, or dinner. Staff are friendly, service is attentive without being intrusive. A marvelous overall experience.
The Waterbury Restaurant was generous enough to host several neighborhood meetings (regarding construction). They set aside ample space, served water and lemonade, and put out a really lovely charcuterie selection.
As the bar was open, and the subject of the meetings was a bit divisive, many people opted to purchase cocktails from the bar. The drinks were very well made, with a focus on their signature cocktails. The price point was exceedingly reasonable.

What a beautiful space! Great staff. So friendly. I love going here as part of the West Maka Ska neighborhood happy hours (usually first Tuesday of the month 5-7pm). And am so excited for the live jazz music here 11/6!
I went yesterday for a coffee/pastry and was able to work from there for a few hours in the morning. It was quiet and a great for “working from home.”
Also, their strawberry dessert is delicious!
