Mild Szechuan Chicken ExperienceI recently tried the Szechuan Chicken at this restaurant, and I must say the experience was a bit underwhelming. The chicken itself was well-cooked and had a pleasant taste, but it lacked the distinctive kick that one might associate with Szechuan cuisine. The absence of bold spices and the characteristic numbing sensation left the dish feeling more like a generic chicken stir-fry than a true Szechuan delight. While the meal was enjoyable in its own right, those expecting an authentic Szechuan spice experience might find themselves yearning for a bit more flavor complexity.**Definition of Szechuan Spice:**Szechuan spice refers to the distinct combination of flavors associated with the cuisine of the Szechuan region in China. It typically includes the heat from Szechuan peppercorns, which induce a tingling or numbing sensation, along with the spiciness of various chili peppers. This dynamic blend creates a flavor profile that is bold, aromatic, and known for its unique and fiery character. The ambiance and service were commendable, but it's crucial to set realistic expectations when ordering the Szechuan Chicken at this establishment.

I am a great fan of Vietnamese food and honestly, I couldn’t be happier to have discovered Viet Hoa. Their pho is delicious and very flavourful. I would say - perhaps one of the best bowls of pho restaurants in the Twin Cities.

After the recent price increases, I don't think I'll be going here much at all anymore. They are not competitive compared to Chipotle next door or Mandarin Yang a little ways down 101. The food was only ever decent. I mainly get the Cashew Chicken. Sometimes the cashews aren't fully shelled and often the chicken has chunks of gristle and cartilage. Plus the soy sauce they give you is low quality and there is a lot of plastic packaging waste. If they are going to charge $20 a dish, then I feel like we should be getting high quality breast meat, not cheap thigh meat (not to mention fully shelled cashews!). Previously, I was OK with paying a few bucks more than Chipotle to support a family business. But now that it's nearly $10 more expensive, I just can't justify it. Especially since I can drive a few more blocks and get the same dish for $16 at Mandarin Yang (better quality too).

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. It's not much if you're looking for atmosphere, but the food is well prepared and reasonably priced. They also offer the standard "Chinese" entrees - which I have not tried but assume are prepared equally well. If you like soup, try the "dry noodle" soup.

Went here to catch up with a friend and I ordered a pho (#2). I would say this is a decent solid dish. I've had better but I've had much worse. I don't know if they missed the basil for me but when I got my plate of add-ons, it didn't have basil. Otherwise, the flavor was good. The service was good as well. They checked on us a few times and our food came out right away. I am a long way from Minnetonka but I would come back here if I'm back in the area!
