$50 for A RACK OF RIBS? Buddy boy is robbing yall blind.
Stopped in for a quick meal after having been told the food was excellent. I would have to agree. We ordered sandwiches, burnt ends potato salad and hush puppies. All were very tasty and we had plenty for leftovers. Our server, Karen, was spectacular. We will go back.

Food is pricey for what you get, but so far I haven't been disappointed. I've been there a few times and it's hit or miss on the quality of the food depending on the day.
They don't have sampler platters, which seem like a logical thing to have. They have one big one for $135. I would recommend they have 2 or 3 meat platters.
You won't walk out spending less than $20/person, unless you're getting just 1 drink.

Initially had very high hopes for this establishment. Variety of menu options. Seating is centered towards the younger folk that don't need a back rest. Large portions and plenty of in house BBQ sauce options to try. Just....don't look in the kitchen while waiting for your food. After watching a cook/chef not use gloves to move meat from the cooler, with their bar hands to the smoker/oven and touch everything in-between...handles, counter. Meat that was on the pan, pressed up to his jacket while transferring locations,...we understood why our stomachs were hurting by the time we arrived home. Your belly will be full ...but at a price. And not just from your wallet ...
If your server isn't short handed, and the manager helps run food, you will be well serviced. Bar is very open and fully stocked.
Front door faces the main road. And watch out for the rock gardens.

A BBQ Craving on a Country Drive
There’s a little stretch on Highway 7, on the way to Mayer, where I’d always catch a glimpse of a tiny BBQ joint off to the left. Nothing flashy—just a humble spot with a gravel parking lot and a few big trucks parked out front. For years, I told myself I’d stop. And finally, during the height of COVID, I did. I still remember that first order: a brisket sandwich and burnt ends. Simple, smoky, absolutely delicious. The kind of food that hits you with that perfect mix of comfort and surprise.
Fast-forward to a night in Waconia. I’m sitting at a bar, chatting with a guy named Neilly—hopefully I’m spelling that right. As it turns out, he’s the pitmaster behind that very same BBQ place I’d stopped at. Small world, right? One of those moments where you think, Of all the places and all the people…
This past weekend, driving through St. Bonifacius, that familiar craving struck again. Burnt ends. Brisket. Something smoky and satisfying. So I pulled into the newly rebuilt restaurant to see what they’d done with the place. The vibe is still that country-road surprise—a BBQ pit stop that feels like it sprouted out of nowhere—but now with a more polished space that still keeps its character.
I ordered a cocktail that tasted like something straight out of a spa—crisp, refreshing, and just boozy enough. Then came the food: my usual half-pound of brisket, a pile of burnt ends, cornbread, and the beans. But these weren’t your average BBQ beans—more like a hearty, flavorful chili that somehow tied the whole plate together.
Every bite hit exactly the way I remembered. That perfect blend of smoky, tender, and comforting. I left feeling genuinely satisfied—not just because I finally fed my craving, but because it felt like revisiting a part of the road that’s become its own little tradition.
Sometimes the best places really do appear out of nowhere. And sometimes, they’re well worth pulling over for.

Really enjoyed buddy boy. Food was all delicious. We had the pulled pork, burnt ends, fries, kimchi, and beans. The beans were kore like a chili, but so delicious. The plain fries were just fine so I’d skip those or try loaded fries next time!

Absolutely incredible food and drinks, a new go-to date night spot for sure. My only complaint is with the seating, the stools at the tables are not very comfortable

Don’t come for the brisket, overcooked, dry and tough. Needed to cut the brisket with a butter knife in order to enjoy this what’s supposed to be a great cut.
The ribs were the show, service was subpar and low energy. Could definitely tell the young man behind the bar was either overworked or just didn’t enjoy his time being there. Myself and both guest on each sided needed to ask for silver ware several times.
What the ticket cost VS what the finished product comes as. Save your money.

Our take out dinner rubbed ribs. Yummy
Nice place. Nice people. Extremely average, overpriced food. The pulled pork has no detectable smoke flavor whatsoever and the Mac N Cheese at $19 is flavorless and boring.
