Big Axe Brewing is a really nice small brewery in Nisswa MN. They had 11 of their beers on tap plus seltzers on my stop. Beers included: pilsner, blonde ale, cream ale, tropical sour, Irish red ale, oktoberfest, chocolate oatmeal stout, barrel aged Mexican chocolate stout, IPA, hazy IPA, and a milkshake IPA. Everything I tried was really solid to above average. They rotate beers very regularly with a fun variety of styles.

The service was really friendly. They run several specials and have trivia on Wednesdays. They have a kitchen with sandwiches, burgers, tacos, and salads. I enjoyed my time and would definitely stop again.

Kid-friendly spot to get a quick bite and great beer. Don’t miss barrel-aged selection for those serious about their beer. Shorechata or vanilla imperial stout are worth the visit alone.

The place is nice and has a good selection of beer and food for the area. However, they need to invest in Spotify premium or an alternative source of music. 2 songs 2 ads, 2 songs 2 ads... very strange.

When you are at a restaurant you don't need to be hearing an add 6-8X about a pill to help your the bowel movements.

No menu in Taproom. Marker markings at the tappers are worn off and illegible. Staff in the Taproom were more interested in talking to each other by the kettles than serving the only two customers at the rail. We left without any interaction with staff, and Big Axe received none of our money.

Great place to get out of the sun on summer vacation. Atmosphere is light and food is delicious! Good service and very clean! Outside seating is nice for families who want a little shade. 10/10!

Had the coffee toffee blonde, cherry almond vanilla sour, house made root beer and mango maibock. All were 10/10. The coffee toffee was the best coffee beer I've had, and same with the sour. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Big Axe Brewing is one of our go-to spots in Nisswa—year-round. The beers are great, the food never disappoints (highly recommend the wings), and the atmosphere just feels like Nisswa. During the summer, the live music out on the patio is always a good time, and it’s a perfect spot to take in downtown.

They’ve got solid lunch options, weekly dinner specials, and they host fun events throughout the year. We’ve spent plenty of afternoons just hanging out on the patio, soaking up that lake life. The owner and staff are always friendly and make you feel right at home. Definitely one of our favorite spots in town.

This is our favorite local brewery! Great beer and wonderful food that is not the usual brewery fare. Went for the Mother’s Day brunch and it was amazing!!

Nice to sit outside in the sun. Poor service and food and we were the only ones here at 12:15?? Not once were we checked on to ensure we were pleased with our cold soup and nachos. Will reconsider coming here again.

Just sipping your Pioneer Pilsner and gotta say one of absolute best Pilsners I’ve ever had. Well done! (and I hope this is a regular brew)
