Fantastic experience. The waitress, Deb, and the bartender, Troy, make you feel like family. My wife and I had a blast with them and some awesome locals. All the rooms face the water with a picturesque view and are very clean. We will 100% be back. Can't beat it!

No place better for a family retreat, reunion, or just a get-away. Decent food, great drinks, music on the lawn, water fun, fishing, etc., etc. Head down the road for a massage or set up a lawn game and firepit, and kick back. Not the spa type resort, but sooooo comfortable with all the amenities, it is far from the rustic cabins I stayed as a kid. This is my idea of having it all.

We stayed at this resort for several days at the very end of October. The staff were wonderful, especially the front desk manager. I was astonished that the resort is keeping the spa and swimming pool open all year round, because they are outdoor. They have it set up with a recreation building just feet away from the water. The spa was wonderful, as was the pool, even though it was just 30 degrees F outside. Our room was quiet, clean and reflected excellent management. The mattress was 12 inch super high quality. The pull down drop shades were light blocking. The hot tub in our room had a high horsepower jet pump which made it more like an hydro therapy athletic training room unit. Just so wonderful. Their television set up is a smart type with corresponding smart box. A little tricky to figure out, but then you have absolutely hundreds of channels including Netflix. The bathroom in our room was large and spotless. There is a outside deck that is private for each room and all face the lake above the patio and swimming beach. Out the door from our room and right down the stairs, you are in the bar restaurant. Many tap beers, quality wine selection, nice staff, and really excellent food for the one dinner we ate. The bar restaurant was playing interesting music, multiple TVs are going and the windows look out over the lake. I'm not exaggerating when I write that this Quarterdeck Resort is about the best overall place I have ever stayed for comfort, good sleep, excellent food, nice helpful staff, and the fun of outdoor water submersion is a winter environment. I can not wait to get back.

When we first arrived the waitress had an attitude like her Vikings football team lost (they did) or just was having a bad day at work. Then I noticed she was the only server working and became a little more empathetic. I came for walleye so I focused on the food. You can’t visit northern Minnesota and not eat walleye! The blackened walleye was a little over seasoned but walleye is a great fish to eat even overcooked. Overall, menu is pretty limited as there are no ribs and brisket like some reviews have mentioned. In the end I gave a decent tip because the food was great. I hope the server realizes that her attitude could have been better short staffed or not and fortunately there are understanding people like me.

When they are busy, don’t bother because the food quality goes downhill!! Some bartenders are wonderful but others are straight rude to teens staying at the resort. Then there are the flies in the bar restaurant area, which could easily have been deterred with some ceiling fans…….just sayin….

beautiful views but really bad service, we waited 30 mins to have our order taken, no apology and then came out wrong. really wanted to love this place and has heard high praise from family and friends but this place was mediocre in a town full of other lakeside dining. disappointing.

Great place to enjoy a beer, munch on some food, and enjoy a view of the lake! The food is very good, even the walleye. All the fries are beer battered too! Our server was friendly. I highly recommend this spot.

Maybe it was an off day but the food was really just so-so. It wasn't bad by any means but I just can't give it 4 stars. The burger is rather plain and dry, the chicken was dry and the nachos were underwhelming. The pictures are quite deceiving - looks way better than it tasted. However, the cheese curds were great! The scenery and service was also very nice. Bathrooms were a little dirty but nothing that would take away a star.

Just finished a 3 week stay at Quarterdeck Resort and could easily do 3 weeks more. Hands down some of the best views on Gull Lake with the most fabulous staff!! If your looking for a resort where your room comes with a full lake view, an expansive, private deck, beach area with complimentary paddle boards and canoes, full service restaurant with the absolute best bar view, "sand bar" with kiddie and adult cocktails, full music schedule and the best ever staff then Quarterdeck Resort is for you!! Special shout out to Zach, Grace & Abby at the front desk and Nicole, Deb, Cullen, Tegan & Molly at Dock 77 & the Sand Bar for outstanding service. Can't wait to see y'all next summer!

This was our second visit to Quarterdeck Resort and here is the scoop. Quarterdeck is one of the smaller resorts on the Gull chain. It has been updated and is cute and clean. Think Hotel Hewing in the North Loop - only with a lake theme. The beds are very comfortable and the view from each balcony priceless. The young staff is very kind and the cleaning crew thorough. While you visit, you can rent a pontoon at a pretty reasonable rate for a full or half day. They offer bikes free of charge. There is a restaurant on site that serves typical burgers, salads, tacos and more. Outdoor music adds to the fun on the weekends. The outdoor space is beautiful with fire pits and corn hole. We had a great week but want to provide some caution and direction. We stayed in three different rooms during our stays here and there is a big variation. If you book, it is worth the cost to pay for the most preferred room. These rooms are located furthest from the restaurant and music and are much more updated and spacious. If you are unable to get one of these rooms, get a room on the top floor if you are coming on the weekend, have children or like to go to bed early. The restaurant below the bar hosts bands on Friday and Saturday. While this is fun if you plan to attend, it is extremely loud if you would like to sleep before 10:00 when they wrap it up. At 10:00, the band started singing, "You can't always get what you want . . . " I burst out laughing in my bed in the dark - yes, sleep. The resort is putting in a pool, pool house and other games. This will be a huge addition as the beach is small and used by few. (free paddleboards and kayaks) We typically stay at Grandview or Maddens. If you have small children and are looking for activities and space to roam, Grandview is the place to go. If you are looking to boat and enjoy a beautiful view and like to staty up past 10:00, this is a cheaper alternative. The hotel is branding itself as the "fun" resort on the lake. I think that description is fitting.

A great place on the lake, central to almost anywhere you might be staying at, especially by boat. They have a super nice deck outlooking the docks and the lake. The service and atmosphere have been great every time. However, we have had issues with food on multiple occasions. Definitely worth stopping by for some drinks and small bites to eat, but there are plenty of better options on the lake for a full meal.
