I took my daughter here to celebrate Autumn Moon Festival.Very disappointed: should have looked closer at reviews. I was looking for a more celebratory atmosphere. On a positive note, food was hot and served in a timely atmosphere. Honey chicken had no honey flavor and Sweet and Sour Chicken had no vegetables but were edible. I returned the pork potstickers: they were overcooked, hard, and the meat had a bad taste. No glass of water was available or ice for drinks.No chopsticks. You can buy bottles or cans. Staff unfriendly. Atmosphere is dingy and unkempt.

Service was fine, and the food came out relatively fast. Main problems were that the vegetables were undercooked, I found bones in every few bites of chicken, and the lemon sauce was like water and tasted like nothing. I’m sad because the last time I went had no issues, and the food was okay, but I’d rather not break my teeth biting into chicken.
I also have to know, is midwestern Chinese food always this bland? Everywhere I have went since moving from the west coast has been so disappointing.

Hunan Gardens is geared towards lunch buffet and take out. The food is average for a Chinese restaurant, but when I do take out here, I get so much that I easily get 2 meals out of it. At $8 for a dinner special you get more than enough food.

Took carry out on a Sunday evening, they were very busy but quoted time quite accurately. Friendly staff and a family run business.Food was very good overall, the Chicken Lo Mein was probably the best we've ever had! Sesame Chicken, Pork Fried Rice and Beef & Broccoli also very tasty. Prices were competitive with similar Chinese restaurants.

I had the general chicken with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The portion size is good. I think the chicken could have a little more spice and a couple more pieces of broccoli, otherwise it was good.

While traveling thru Mankato we decided to stop for a bite. I had the Hunan Chicken and my wife had the Broccoli Chicken. We both thought it totally “ hit the spot” very good flavor. Only issue the plastic fork was really flimsy and they did not have a knife.
