They have some of the best ice cream, and they have a lot of different varieties to choose from!! You also get a lot of ice cream for what you pay for! I highly recommend coming here!

My family came for ice cream. They didn't disappoint with all the flavor options. I love that they listed the gluten free options.

I’ll be upfront immediately- I’m not a huge ice cream fan. Sorbet or gelato, yes. Ice cream, not so much. As a result, it takes a lot to impress me with regular ice cream. So take this review with a grain of salt, especially if you like ice cream.

The Dorset House is located in the “city” of Dorset, a quaint town featuring a variety of eateries. This one happens to focus on ice cream.

The inside is pretty large with plenty of seating. You can also order ice cream at an outside window and pick it up at the next window. That’s great if you want to eat outside or are biking along the Heartland Trail.

Our party ordered a variety of flavors, both plain ice cream and sundaes. A single scoop feels like at least 2 scoops. And the sundaes are massive. Although I didn’t see it on the signs, you can order a small sundae, although I think it was only $1 less.

The ice cream seems like pretty standard ice cream. Nothing was memorable about it. But it’s a popular destination, and I enjoy visiting Dorset.

One thing I don’t like about the layout is that the ice cream sits directly behind a counter where patrons sit. If you want to see the ice cream or read a description of it, you have to ask anyone sitting there to move slightly so you can take a look. You can also ask for samples when you’re ordering.

If you’re an ice cream fan, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the Dorset House, especially on a hot, summer day.

Parking: Parking can be a challenge in Dorset. The town draws a lot of tourists certain evenings and on weekends, so you might have to find something behind the buildings if street parking is not available.

This place is a gem. Best pizza some of us have ever had, fresh salads, delicious pulled pork sandwiches all served with a friendly smile. Our only regret is our group was too full for the tasty-looking ice cream treats on the menu.

Kid-friendliness: Definitely a kid pleasing place, with plenty of space between tables to spread out if being near children is not your thing.

This is always our family's "go to" ice cream stop each year's vacation!

Old school pizza/ice cream shop with enough variety to leave a smile on everyone's face, no matter how picky. The staff are always sweet and great with my kiddos, even when they had to play superhero after one of the littles dropped their coveted milk dud (Placed at the bottom of some of their cones). I always love going here and listening to my wife speak so fondly of the ice cream shop she once visited as a young girl @:)
