We love stopping here during our many trips from Twin Cities to Rochester and back.

The breakfast reminded me of hearty farm breakfasts. We could taste the difference it makes with fresh ingredients. They put a lot of care into preparing the meals and delivering to the table. Again, it felt like being on the family farm.

Everyone is friendly and the locals stream in all morning!

“Went to C&G and got the Springroll bowl, was feeling chinese today. Was too loud by the bathroom and smell like bleach and in my food. taste delicious though! also had the peanut butter smothie. mmm. drank before i took picture at home.”

“What a treat! In a picturesque stone building immediately across the street from the famous Hubbell House, the Mantorville Saloon is a relaxed, laid—back bar with typical bar food to order. The walls are covered with pictures of local events and history, including a picture of an elegant stone building that used to be about a block away, which had most recently been a plumbing store. There is a very nice tent in the back for people who prefer to eat in the open air. Indoors is very nice, with ample room for social distancing. Ambiance might be typical of a century’s old bar, now with colored lights and televisions for those who want to follow the sports. For Viking’s games, there is a large roll-down screen to give everyone an excellent view.”

“We went for our one year anniversary. There were some ups and downs. One I would recommend the onion ring. Very fresh, large portion and homemade ranch was great. I would NOT recommend the seafood melt. It had those to tiny shrimp with veins still and just very fishy old taste. We both got the ribeye both cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. I got the augratin potato’s which are just cheesy hash browns Al little salty but still really good. The chopped salad was very minimal I’d get the soup next time. And a side of broiled shrimp. Wouldn’t get those again very rubbery and no flavor. My partner got the fries which he loved and the Cesar salad which he didn’t not. Over all the important part of the meal was really great. Could use a few changes but we would come back another time!”

“I've frequented take out here for many years and kept coming back because of the value...good and fresh at reasonable price.\nThey have had the buffet for several years but the restaurant WAS run down. Recent renovations however have made me reconsider and today I'm happy to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the buffet. \nPlace was somewhat busy but plenty of seating.\nThe buffet was kept fresh and stocked.\nThe owners have always been gracious and welcoming.\nThis is a hidden gem for a great value lunch.”

“Our plans for a late dinner and beers fell apart. One of our group called and asked if Newt's (South) could accommodate a group of our size that late on a Tuesday. We arrived to a waiting table with waters & popcorn. Our server, Layne, was quick taking our drink and food orders. The food was amazing, hot, and fast. Thank you for saving our "afters" tonight. We will be back!”
