Drinks were perfect, service was perfect. Atmosphere was so cool it made me feel like I wanted to stay there for hours. And having to solve a riddle in order to figure out how to open a bookcase in order to get in was such an incredible touch I can't wait to go back!

Interesting space, and we had a nicely attentive server, but we disliked the drinks we ordered. Mine was the better of the ones tried with the unique flavor of star anise which I can appreciate, but all of the house designed drinks we tried were extremely sweet and perhaps a bit small for the price (but I am willing to accept the size given the unique ingredients). One of the other drinks we tried with fig flavor none of us liked much. None of us in our group of 8 were willing to order a second drink after trying our first ones. Perhaps this is only for some, the ambience was certainly nice.

The drinks are quite good, especially for Rochester. Unlike so many places, Bitter and Pour does one thing and does it well. Perhaps the best part is the atmosphere - with no windows, you can, after a few drinks, pretend you are somewhere else. For that reason alone, this place is priceless.

Bitter & Pour might have been the coolest speakeasy/cocktail lounge experience I have ever experienced. It was so fun locating the riddle to get the clue, and then gaining access. Once inside, you are definitely transported to a different time and a complete vibe. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about spirits and cocktails, they were accommodating for my wheelchair, and they are exceptionally talented when it comes to making these drinks. They were unique, but familiar cocktails and with as many options as they had, there is certainly something for everyone. It definitely seems like this is a place that would get really busy, so there might be a wait or you might have to try to come back. No matter the case, it is well worth it if you enjoy a great experience and a delicious drink.

I wondered how to get in. Honestly, I was about to go into the elevator. The bookcase I had been automatically opened up, as if to allow me to see its secrets, instead of watching myself embarrassed on the screen outside the “entrance”. Inside is Bitter & Pour. It’s lovely with many conversations going on. The bar was full. I enjoyed the ambience. My mocktail “Problem Free” was the tastiest I’ve had. So delicious. Check out the branding on my ice cube! Even got a “Virgin Ginger” for my second drink.

It is pretty pricey, at least $14 per drink. I had 3 cocktails and a beer and spent over $40.
