If you’re in Rochester, MN and looking for great coffee, this is your spot. Coffee was absolutely dialed in — smooth, bold, and consistent. The sugar-free syrup options were A+ (hard to find good ones, and they nailed it).
The atmosphere is amazing — perfect for client meetings, remote work, or just taking a break from the day. Staff was outstanding: friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming.
Pro tip: Park in the back or take a short walk through downtown Rochester. Totally worth it.

Cafe steam checks all the boxes that you would expect of a specialty coffee shop. Although during peak hours seating is limited, the kindness and intentionality of the baristas and the delicious coffee and scones make up for it. I especially appreciate the diverse menu and late hours. Definitely recommend for a quick cup of joe, or for a cozy place to read or study!

Seating was scarce because most tables were taken by solo laptop users. The noise level from knocking out the portafilters and staff calling across the bar created an environment that felt, to me, like a signal to keep visits short.
