I’ve been eating at John Hardy’s since I was a kid. And I’m 51 now. I never get sick of their food. I live in the cities now. But every time I get down there I pick up some. 10+ is my rating.

Being from down South and knowing good bbq, this was not it. I ordered the sliced brisket dinner plate with fried okra and baked potato. The brisket was overcooked. You had to cut it with a knife. It tasted like it had liquid smoke flavoring which left a bad taste in your mouth. My husband had the ribs plate with slaw. He said the slaw was cut way too fine and small and the taste wasn’t that good. The ribs were overcooked as well and had too much smoke flavor. Ribs should fall off the bone when cooked to perfection and brisket should just melt in your mouth. The young Asian/American waitress we had was as sweet as could be and did a perfect job! Thumbs up! The restaurant was small but cute. The sauce tasted way too vinegary.

Pulled pork a great choice , had a casual dine in experience no frills . Was great bbq meat was tender. Sit down dine with a pay at the counter finish.
Ordered food for a large party and they was very knowledgeable had all the answers food was done when they said it would be was no waiting and it was so good thank you for all your help and the great food definitely recommended ?

I don't like writing reviews but this one is very necessary. I wish I read the reviews before going but staying at Econolodge , 10% discount and it's BBQ !!! Wow the service was ok not that the servers were bad it's they were very understaffed. Ordered brisket meal (1/2 lb brisket, garlic bread , sweet potato tots and macaroni salad) garlic bread out 1st it was ok but could've been warmer. Now the meal ... the brisket (3 slices) was dry and cold , flavorless and seemed like it was smoked weeks ago frozen then reheated. Tots were cold , salad was good. Got a box to go (not sure why) almost all tots 2 slices of brisket all but 1 garlic bread... ate the salad. Definitely don't recommend you can get much better BBQ at a gas station for half the price (not even referring to Buccee's)
