Fabulous range of beers, great food and incredibly friendly staff. Very convenient, short walk for anyone staying at the neighbouring Holiday Inn - leave your car and enjoy a few beers!!! đ
This trip was mid as my kids would say. The food was okay but there were a couple of faux pas in ordering and execution.
The food was very good and I enjoyed the chicken avocado sandwich. The chicken was very tender and juicy.
The food was really good but the reason why Iâm taking time outta my busy today to say the service was something admirable, my server name was Michelle and you should ask for her
Michelle is the WORST bartender ever Iâve ever dealt with! So entitled! She even told me to leave! Pours all mixed drinks lite. Canât taste the liquor at all. They put a huge ice cube in all there mixers. NOT WORTH TIME OR MONEY
We have been to Mayo in Rochester several times, but never really branched out more than across the street or in the hotel for dining. Last time we were at Mayo, we stayed at the Homewood Inn and Suites by Hilton (fabulous) and we found a gem restaurant that is the Boulder Tap House only 2 1/2 blocks away from our hotel.
We wanted to find a place that we could watch the Pacers game last Wednesday and just kind of eat, munch, drink, and watch the game. We were so glad we found this place that had ample seating in the dining area, but we chose to sit at the end of the bar which is a horse shoe style.
Our server was Ann who worked in the bar who I quickly assumed was an owner, turns out she was just the manager filling in. She worked the bar and interacted with the servers that were working the floor like she owned the place. She was seriously invested in the operations. I always seem to notice that and determine if itâs going to be a good experience or not. It was indeed a great experience.
Firstly, we told Ann that we were here to watch the game and arrived a little before 6 PM and the game didnât start until 7:30PM so we told her we were going to munch a little bit and then get some meals but we were here for the duration and asked if it was OK that were going to camp out and take three bar spaces. She was 100% OK with that.
This place has an incredible beer menu and incredible taps and an incredible staff that is Ann. She was very patient and offered little samples of things that we had questions about, and she offered a Brewerâs knowledge, although she did not brew the beer. It was super impressive. She knew where the brews originated from and she knew history.
It was simply incredible to talk to her about the originations, the crafters and history even though I am not a big craft beer person I found her fascinating in her willingness to stop what she was doing, and explain the ins and the outs. She also gave little samples and we landed on several favorites, heretofore unknown to us.
A serious favorite was brewed in New Ulm, Minnesota, The Grain Belt Beer Nordeast. Deceivingly Amber, but such a light crisp taste. Wow.
The food was so tasty. Cheese Curds which were huge cheese squares that would make every Wisconsinite instantly move to Minnesota; a Sourdough Burger; and a Stuffed Tap House Burger. All delicious and if I had been hungry, I would have ordered the Jalapeño Popper BurgerâŠ..next time!!!!
Visit this place. The people working their tails off in there are charming and the customers were very nice to us Iowa folkđ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł.
Ordered take out. Place was dead. Employees milling around and ignoring me and another couple that walked in. I saw my takeout on the bar. After waiting and no one coming I picked it up myself. Waited to tell someone I got it. Nothing. Walked toward an employee near the bar and she saw me and actively walked away from me and disappeared into the kitchen. So I just walked out with my order. Terrible, terrible customer service.
The black bean chili is fantastic! Fish tacos very tasty. Check it out. Great burger menu as well.
MAYO CLINIC PATIENTS BEWARE â Extremely Unsafe and Disrespectful Environment We visited Boulder Tap House for what was supposed to be a quiet dinner the night before my wifeâs cancer surgery at Mayo Clinic. Instead, we were met with one of the most disturbing and hostile experiences Iâve ever encountered in a restaurant. While seated at the bar, a clearly intoxicated man began verbally harassing us. After learning my wife was having cancer surgery the next day, he told her, âI hope it kills you.â I calmly told him to watch his mouth, and he escalated, threatening to fight me and demanding we âgo outside.â I immediately asked an employee behind the barâBrianâto remove the man or get a manager. Shockingly, Brian responded, âMaybe you should f*cking leaveheâs a regular.â When I pressed for a manager, Brian loudly yelled âF* these people,â which the manager overheard as she approached. The jerk left on his ownâwithout any staff intervention. Brian continued yelling profanities across the bar, âF** that guy,â* even in front of other guests. The manager apologized but dismissed my demand for Brianâs termination, saying they were âtoo busy.â This is unacceptable. A cancer patient should never be subjected to threats or verbal abuse in what should be a safe public space. And for staff to defend the aggressor and attack the victim is beyond comprehension. Mayo patients and families: do not go here. There are many respectful, compassionate places to eat in Rochester. This is not one of them. Photo is Brian: wouldnât recommend his table.
Was there Saturday night to catch up with friends from out of state. Our server Katelyn (sorry if I spelt the name wrong) was absolutely fantastic!! She has the best personality & was always checking in to make sure we were all taken care of! Will definitely be back again soon! Also, the drinks and wings were great!!

I should have used my Neighborly gift card at Red Cow. Never know what kind of service youâll get at Tap House. We were there before the rush and still had to wait for return service. Ordered appetizers and they didnât come. Food was ok, but my food was not hot, just warm.
Killer food and drinks!

Great service and food. Asked to have my burger done medium rare and it was perfect! The array of beers makes it hard to choose which one! The staff was very friendly and attentive.

This place was super packed, but everything was really good. Our server Bryan did an awesome job handling all of his guests and he was busy. We will definitely be back and if Bryan is there we will ask for him.
