We recently photographed a holiday party at The Castle with Midwest LifeShots Photography and were genuinely impressed with how well the venue handles larger events. The capacity and layout are clearly designed for scale. Even with a full guest list, food service and detailed décor setups, the space never felt cramped or chaotic.
From a photographer’s perspective, that matters. There’s room to move, room to shoot wide and still plenty of opportunities for clean detail photos of food, décor and event design. Large events often expose a venue’s weak points and this space didn’t show any. Everything flowed smoothly which makes documenting an event efficient and enjoyable.
For anyone planning a holiday party, corporate event or large celebration in Rochester MN, The Castle is a strong option. As a Rochester-based photography team that works in event venues regularly, we appreciate spaces that are built to handle real events and make it easy to capture them well.

The Castle is so cool!! I grew up hearing stories about different events taking place here decades ago and it was SO fun being there photographing a wedding!! The staff was super helpful and accommodating. Exploring broadway and nearby streets lead to heaps of photographic ideas! The Castle is an awesome venue!

We absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and the atmosphere and service is some of the best in Rochester by far! You can't go wrong here especially for a date night! We love bringing our family here on their birthdays too, definitely high class to the max!

Absolutely amazing venue option! We had our wedding at the Castle (2nd and 3rd floor) and it was a day we'll never forget. The management team and staff were so fun and easy to work with during the planning process, and day-of. They were organized, attentive, professional, and timely. Very competitive and reasonable pricing as well. We brought in our own decorations and linens for the event (they do have basic colors available to rent), and the coordination for set up and clean up was flexible which made our lives a little easier during the chaos.The venue itself is stunning! Rustic, vaulted ceilings, large windows, touch of art from local artists, historic brick accents, and rich with history. Cameo catered the happy hour and dinner which was delicious and fresh! 10/10 recommend this venue for anyone hosting a special event!
