Randy is the most despicable food service employee I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting. He was rude, unwelcoming, condescending, and unprofessional. He tried to aggressively pressure us into ordering appetizers numerous times, and then upcharged us at the till, claiming there are “three different menus” and refusing to show me an itemized breakdown of what I was being charged for. Not to mention the uncovered outlets, torn seats, dirty tables, and stomach upset I was left with after eating here. I will never be wasting my time at this establishment again.

Everytime I have picked up food from this place the service has been offensively bad. The owner (?) Randy is extremely unhelpful and unknowledgable about what allergens are present in the food. There are price discrepancies online, in the physical menu, and in what you're actually charged. The service is extremely poor and the restaurant is unclean. Everytime I have spoken to Randy it has been an unpleasant experience. The food is just alright, and honestly isn't worth the poor service. If you have a miserable time dealing with customers maybe you shouldn't run a restaurant and should learn to value your business in the future.

The food was delicious, service was great, prices are reasonable. Clean restroom. I highly recommend dining in or ordering take out.

Once a year, I go to this restaurant with my extended family. The service is good with a side of humor, and the food is great! The ambiance (because Yelp is asking) is pretty standard for a strip mall Asian restaurant - it looks fine, but I'm there for the food. :) We ordered Pork Pad Thai, Lab Esan, and the Pad Ped Talay. My sister and I shared the Pad Thai and the Lab Esan. Both were really good! The Lab was like lettuce wrap filling, but we were instructed to eat it with a little ball of rice. It was tasty! We'll be back next year!

Best Thai food in the Twin Cities hands-down!! Pad Thai , eggrolls, spicy chicken wings, house special fried rice, and their curry's are all must haves

The food is AMAZING! It's a little pricey but TOTALLY worth every penny. My teenage son and I go there as a treat-yo-self. ie after conferences,as a reward or a comfort depending. because it's paycheck day or (last time we went) because we hadn't gone in a while. If you're going for food and not an atmosphere, Hong Thai is perfect. The furniture has a Northwoods theme. There's not a lot on the walls. What is on the walls is obviously from Thailand. The plants look like they could use some love. But I didn't come for horticulture or interior design. I came for the food and I keep coming back for the food. The servers are always very nice and efficient. The tables, the silverware, and the bathroom are always clean. That's all I need from a restaurant. Cleanliness, friendliness, and good food! I'm willing to pay a little extra for it.

Just moved in near this restaurant. We ordered Drunken Noodles, Spicy Fried Rice with Basil and Potstickers. Loved each and every single thing!!! They’ve earned a new regular customer.

Great food but the owner, I guess, refuses to update their website and online presence to distinguish between the locations. So we ordered from the wrong location because the phone number is in the wrong place...and had to an extra half hour drive to pick it up.Frankly, it's bad enough to be a deal breaker.

I ordered the Lad Esan with beef, and it was amazing. The dish was packed with flavor, with the perfect balance of spice and sweetness. The beef was cooked to perfection, tender and juicy. The cucumber was fresh and crisp, and the entire dish was just bursting with flavor.I highly recommend Hong Thai. I look forward to returning with some friends so we can sample the many flavorful dishes they offer.
