The bar was busy tonight with one guy behind the bar. He was moving fast, still smiling. Appreciated that you were open on Christmas. Cocktails were good. Can’t wait to stop back for food.

I've tried the food a few times and wasn't impressed with much of it, but the staff is amazing and it has a fun atmosphere. The pickled cukes and the beans were good, but I didn't like the burger. The sauces are good. The brisket melt is good. The jalapeno poppers were not good. Order carefully.

The barbecue is the best I've had in Minnesota. Lots of cops around so safety is not an issue. I just hope they weren't on duty becuse they hung around for a long time (not drinking, but not fighting crime either).

Alary's was a great choice for our Christmas office party. They sectioned off a portion of the bar for our event, servers/bartenders were kind and attentive, and the cherry on top was Hamm's on tap. Thank you for making me look good in front of my coworkers. I recommend this bar for your future work events.

Ah, Pete's spice on the smoked wings at Alary's Bar & Barbeque in St. Paul, Minnesota is a game-changer! 🌶️ The combination of the smoky flavor from the wings and the kick from Pete's spice is a match made in BBQ heaven. Your taste buds will thank you for this flavorful experience. Make sure to have a cold drink on hand to cool down the heat, but trust me, it's worth the spice! 🔥👍

I recently stopped by Alary’s in downtown St. Paul on a Chicago Bears game day, and the energy in the place was absolutely electric! As a Bears bar here in Minnesota, it’s a great spot to catch the game with other fans—it felt like a mini Chicago right in the heart of St. Paul.

I tried a few things off their menu, starting with the Ketel One Blueberry Mule, which was refreshing and tasty—a perfect drink for unwinding.

For food, I had the Brisket & Smoked Queso Sandwich, which was hands-down my favorite. The brisket was tender and flavorful, and their sauces took it to another level. Speaking of sauces, I also tried their Smoked Wings, paired with a variety of their house-made options: Mississippi Comeback, Strawberry Jalapeño, Jerk BBQ, and Petey’s BBQ Championship. Each sauce had its own unique flair, but the Strawberry Jalapeño stood out for its sweet and spicy twist.

I heard they make a killer banana pudding, so that’s definitely on my list for next time! The ambiance of Alary’s is another highlight—you can feel the history in the space, which gives it a charming and authentic vibe.

The service was also top-notch. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed, even on a busy game day, which really added to the experience.

One thing that makes Alary’s stand out is the convenience they offer. They provide validated evening and weekend parking in the ramp next door, and even run shuttles to and from all major events in Saint Paul, including Wild games, Saints games, concerts, and downtown events. You can park for free and ride with them, which is such a game-changer.

If you’re into trivia, don’t miss their Bar Trivia, which isn’t just limited to evenings. It’s a great way to enjoy some good food and drinks while testing your knowledge any time of day!

Whether you’re here for the food, drinks, or the lively atmosphere, Alary’s is definitely worth a visit, especially on game day. I’ll be back soon to try that banana pudding!

The barbecue is excellent and the drinks are good. It's a perfect stop for lunch or before an event at the xcel with their shuttle service.

I’ve been here before when it was known as a cop bar. Loved it then and was worried about coming back after hearing of Al passing and new management. They just opened up full swing a few months back. Last night we were treated by the bartender, Mark, who was friendly the entire time. Some regular patrons also spoke with us about the history of the bar and changes. They have remained regulars.

The new design is good. They still pay homage to Law Enforcement with a St Paul PD car door on the wall with signatures. We ordered drinks and burgers. Food was top notch. Service was quick. Price was decent. The owner, Bill, came by to say hi as well.

Definitely will be back.

I ordered the smoked turkey, with bacon and cheese sandwich. The FLAVOR and smoke seasoning of the turkey was 🔥!! Total time from walking in, ordering, and leaving with hot food appropriately 20min. Seasoned fries with 20+ sauces to choose from with levels of spicy for everyone!!!!
Ohhhhh and the amount of food for low prices…. in this economy is a no brainer for me!!
I’ve found my lunch spot!!! Whoot whoot
