I've been getting takeout for my family here for many years and the food is always a hit. Service ranges from gregarious to down-to-business depending on which family member is staffing the counter. Getting an order fulfilled around meal times can be slow but they are up front about that when they're running behind, so it's my choice. Overall I love having this option and am happy to support a local business.
All I ever get here is some combo of fries, spanakopita and falafel sandwich. All are good, but the fries are especially delicious. All helpings are generous. All prices are reasonable.
The place has very easy access from the street with plenty of parking off the street directly by the establishment. The Restaurant is run by 2 people and at sometimes a ONE man team. So between taking orders and cooking it can be a little time-consuming. The food is all fresh and made to order, very tasty and good portions. The Gyros are seasoned well and cooked perfectly. soft bread and fresh cucumber sauce. The Falafel is a little garlic overtaken, not the best I have had but I liked it with the tahini sauce. The Staff is very friendly. owned and operated from a young couple from Iraq. VERY nice people. Prices are very low comparing to the size of the meal. The place is clean and quiet on the inside, plenty of seating area. I have become a regular customer as I will stop by every time I am in the area.
Ordered Ali Baba's to go for our office today. The baklava was the best I or my co-workers have ever had! Gyros were fantastic, super moist and tasty with great cuke sauce. Falafal sandwich was really good. Clean little place with nice people running it. For the money, it's a great place.
I have recently moved to the area and was looking for a good gyro. Stopped at Ali Baba's and had a tasty gyro and feta salad. I will definitely be going back at another time.
I stopped in here for a gyro while driving down Robert street for some dining inspiration. I stepped in this little gem and was a bit confused as they have several menus, picture of food and options displayed on the counter. After reading a menu posted on teh wall, I ordered a Gyro and thought I was getting a meal, but just got the Gyro($8) and a can of pop($1.09). I ordered it for dine in and the gentleman packaged it up to go, not a big deal, he was very friendly. The place is small with seating for about 20, definitely a mom and pop style restaurant that I love. Getting a glass of water was a bit of a challenge with asking the gentleman behind the counter and him going in back and emerging a few minutes later. The food is great, although I have never met a gyro i didn't like. The decor is a bit dated but the posters reminded me of the Donner Kabob stands I have eaten at in my travels. You will leave full, so come hungry.
This restaurant is definitely about the experience of visiting the restaurant and interacting with the staff. The gyro was good, with authentic flavor. The hummus was too oily and the chicken dish had an unusual pickled flavor. We will stick to the gyros next time.
Surprising good, the extra is small and easy to pass by but it is worth a stop in. Their food is all hand made so it takes a little bit of time to wait while they cook it but it is worth the extra little bit of time. Their falafel is creamy and wonderful, not dry, has a good outer crisp. The Chicken Shawirma is especially tasy!
Ate for the first time tonight for take out. Loved it as did my family! So much meat in the gyro. We fought over the baklava. So light and crispy. Hard working family owned business. Will go back for sure.

If you want a great Gyro this is a very good lunch spot. Disappointing that the pita bread is out of a bag as it appears most sides are also not made on site. Stick with the gyro and you will be very happy. Outside of that skip the falafel, hummus, and so on.
This was the most expensive Gyro that i have ever had in my entire life. It wasn't worth the money. It was $15 for just the Gyro.I was very disappointed.
Owners here have varied; at one time I walked out as I knew if the male owner would wait on me, I'd just feel ignored as a woman or at least not welcome. It may have changed hands since then.
Ate here the other day from a recommendation of a friend I trust. The gyro was really good actually, I don't really have too many gripes about it....except for the fact that they don't use fresh pita- or even try to pretend they do. They flat out give you the pita in the same bag that they buy it from the grocery store...tacky. Furthermore, most of their stuff is canned...including the very weak Baba Ganoush and the subpar dolmas. If this restaurant were in any other city, it would be D.O.A. First off, Ali Baba is a well-renowned name for Turkish establishments that sell Doener Kebab, not Greek Gyros. Second, so self-respecting Greek would ever take pride in selling canned/out-of-house-prepared food items such as Baba Ganoush/hummus/tahina. I'm not sure if they actually did make their delicious Tzatziki, it was spectacular, but i have to presume it came from somewhere else.
