After a 20+ year relationship I am writing this review to share a very unpleasant experience. On my way home Friday, June 10, 2022, I stopped to pick up 24 plain wings and an order of plain jojo's. I paid for my order and waited for it. I put the food in the back of my car and started driving home. The aroma of the wings in the car made me pull over and check my order. The wings were not plain but had the seasoning on them. I called back to say my order was wrong and said I was coming back and would like plain wings and plain jojos. Upon my return, the person that took my order said I never said plain. I have been purchasing this same order for more than 2 decades and now it's a challenge...The woman behind the counter insisted she took my order correctly and she insisted I was wrong. She went on to say I was rude to her. How should a customer feel when your order is wrong, you call back to tell them and when you arrive the person chooses to argue with you. She told me they would not remake my order and then proceeded to refund my money. She tried to keep the tip that I had initially paid. It was clearly on my banking app. This was such a disheartening experience I don't know if there will be a next time for me. Twenty plus years as a customer and this is how I'm treated. A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT .

Great seasoning on the wings. Flavor hasn't changed a bit since my last visit 25 years ago. Red beans and rice were good but not spectacular. Other reviews suggest they're not very consistent. My meal turned out just fine.

I first started going to Hickory Hut back in the mid-90s when I used to work in downtown Saint Paul I would get them on the way to work. Then I would order them every now and then when I was in Saint Paul they tasted just like the Wings over in Minneapolis that used to be on 38th and Nicollet called Shorty and Wags. I think both locations used to be the original Art Songs but then after the original Art Songs went out of business both locations had their own name. I like the Hickory Hut better than the other restaurant because they're not crack wings meaning very teeny but the way things used to be a normal size here at Hickory Hut but now they have became overly large I don't know if I need to request just a normal size when I come in but I'm not real impressed with overly sized chicken wings because they tend to be a little tough. The ones I got yesterday we're good, not cooked as hard in side but they were good when I got them inside my air fryer they were perfect but the wings still have that really good seasoning on them. Every now and then I will be coming back but I will ask for regular size wings LOL, if they do that.

We come here regularly. Last time was this spring. Prices have gone up unbelievably- box of wings went from $24.99 to 39.99. Not worth it at that price

Their wings pack some flavor. It's like no other chicken wing flavor you've ever had. It's good. Pick some up on the way to a potluck or a backyard bbq.

I literally just drove all the way to this restaurant for days old rib tips, nasty chicken with all the feathers still attached, runny HOT Cole slaw, spicy vinegary greens, nasty mac n cheese, etc....$60 wasted!!! Despicable! I would rate a zero if I could seriously!

I ordered 42$ worth of food and they forgot my side of greens. I called and asked what they can do and they told me to bring all my food back and I can get my side. I didn't want to drive all the way back so I asked for a upgrade on my side and they said no. Grrrrr

The smell that hit me when I came into the restaurant had me thinking I made a good choice. But the chicken was just okay. I had high hopes for some great chicken. The sauce helped out some. Otherwise not for me.

This isn't your sit-down and enjoy type of place, but my family and I have been coming here for more than 20 years (2-gen) for call-ahead pickup of our 24 wings and rib tip bucket almost weekly. It's amazing, not fancy, not impressive other than flavor. Love this place and hope people give it a shot. P.S. I've heard their ho-jo's are good too but I generally don't like them so I can't say.

A year ago the rice was not fully cook. This time the rice was covered with the seasoning by clotted together. No more butter and light seasoning. The rice was cooked. I am not sure what happened to the place, but I will not be going back. Three wings, rice, Texas Toast, and coleslaw + 15% tip was over 14 dollars. If the quality was there I would not mind. But I can get a tasty chicken dinner special at Popeyes for 5 bucks. Guess I can't live in the past.

The wings are very good. The dry rub is unique with lots of flavor. The sides we tried were average- French fries were soggy, mac-cheese bites were Ok but the Jalepeno poppers were good. I would try the chicken again for sure.

The rib tips were tough and didn't taste like barbecue. They taste like they were baked in the oven. And they was fatty. The hojos were extremely salty the first layer is where the seasoning was.

I used to go to Hickory hut to get wings for work parties and at times for myself, and recommended many people to go there. I went to Hickory Hut on Saturday July 11th and ordered wings and corn bread which came in the form of a muffin. The wings were okay but not like they used to be and I had to remove many feathers from the wings and they were overcooked. The corn muffins were burnt on the bottom that they almost broke my teeth! I really want to support this eatery so I will call to speak with a manager to let them know that it's very easy to lose customers over bad quality food.
